2015 Indian Premier League Final
The 2015 Indian Premier League Final was a day/night Twenty20 cricket match between the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings, played on 24 May 2015, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. It was held to determine the winner of the 2015 season of the Indian Premier League, the annual professional Twenty20 tournament in India. It was the third time these two teams met in the final, having previously played each other in the 2010 and 2013 finals. Mumbai defeated Chennai by 41 runs to win their second IPL title, playing in their third IPL final. Their previous IPL victory had come at the same venue against the same opposition in 2013. Chennai were playing their sixth IPL final, attempting to win their third title. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma was awarded man of the match for his innings of 50. The 2015 season of the Indian Premier League, also known as IPL 8 or, for sponsorship reasons, Pepsi IPL 2015, was the eighth season of the IPL, a Twenty20 cricket league established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. The tournament featured eight teams and was held from 8 April 2015 to 24 May 2015. The tournament's opening ceremony was held at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on 7 April 2015. Kolkata Knight Riders were the defending champions having won the title in the 2014 season. The tagline was ''India ka tyohar (the festival of India.) '' On 24 May 2015, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 41 runs in the final at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, to win the IPL title for the second time. The 2013 Indian Premier League Final was a day/night Twenty20 cricket match played between the Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians on 26 May 2013 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata to determine the winners of the 2013 Indian Premier League, the sixth annual season of the professional Twenty20 cricket tournament in India. Mumbai defeated Chennai by 23 runs, attributed to Kieron Pollard's unbeaten innings of 60 runs from 32 balls which earned him the man of the match award. Mumbai won their first IPL title playing in their second IPL Final, after losing to Chennai in 2010. Chennai were playing their fifth IPL Final, attempting to win their third title. Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh (born 3 July 1980) is a member of parliament in Rajya Sabha and an Indian retired cricketer and cricket commentator, who played for the Indian national cricket team from 1998 - 2016. Singh was a right-arm spin bowler. In Indian domestic cricket he played for Punjab cricket team, in IPL for Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders franchise. Separamadu Lasith Malinga ( si, සෙපරමාදු ලසිත් මාලිංග; born 28 August 1983), nicknamed "Slinga Malinga", is a Sri Lankan former cricketer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest limited overs bowlers of all time. Corey James Anderson (born 13 December 1990) is a former New Zealand cricketer who has played as an all-rounder for New Zealand in international cricket, as well as Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians in the IPL and Northern Districts in New Zealand first class cricket. Mitchell John McClenaghan (born 11 June 1986) is a New Zealand international cricketer who plays limited over internationals for New Zealand. Domestically, he plays for Otago in New Zealand. Lendl Mark Platter Simmons (born 25 January 1985) is a Trinidadian cricketer who played internationally for the West Indies. Parthiv Ajay Patel (born 9 March 1985) is a former Indian professional cricketer, wicketkeeper-batsman, and was a member of the Indian national cricket team. He is a left-handed batsman and played for Gujarat in domestic cricket. Having lost a finger at the age of 9, he initially found it hard to keep wickets, but after enough practice, he was used to it. Brendon Barrie McCullum (born 27 September 1981) is a cricket coach, commentator and former cricketer representing New Zealand, who played all formats, including as captain.
