2015 Formula Renault 2.0 Alps Season
The 2015 Formula Renault 2.0 Alps Series was the fifth year of the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps series, and the fourteenth season of the former Swiss Formula Renault Championship. The championship began on 12 April at Imola and finished on 11 October at Jerez after sixteen races held at seven meetings. The 2015 season featured a new three-race weekend format for rounds at the Red Bull Ring and Monza. In a final-race decider, British driver Jack Aitken secured the drivers' championship title by five points ahead of his Koiranen GP team-mate Jake Hughes. Aitken trailed Hughes by five points going into the race at Jerez, but Aitken's third-place finish – behind Ben Barnicoat and Anthoine Hubert, who were both ineligible to score championship points – to Hughes' ninth-place finish (third amongst Alps runners) gave him the honours. Jack Aitken
Jack Aitken (Korean: 한세용, ''Han Se-yong''; born 23 September 1995 in London) is a British- South Korean racing driver who currently competes for Racing Team Turkey in the European Le Mans Series and for Emil Frey Racing in the ADAC GT Masters and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. He is the current reserve driver for Williams Racing in Formula One. Born in London to a Scottish father and South Korean mother, Aitken began his career in karting at Buckmore Park, aged 7. James Allen (racing Driver)
James Allen (born 4 July 1996) is a professional racing driver from Australia. He currently competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for G-Drive Racing by APR and has previously competed in the European Le Mans Series. Career European Le Mans Series Allen first contested the European Le Mans Series in 2017 with Graff Racing's LMP2 entry. Simon Gachet (born 14 October 1993) is a French racing driver who currently competes in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup for Tresor by Car Collection. Career Early career An avid rugby player as a young boy, Gachet was not heavily involved with motorsports in his youth.
