2015 FIA WTCC Race Of Morocco
The 2015 FIA WTCC Race of Morocco (formally the 2015 Eurodatacar Race of Morocco) was the second round of the 2015 World Touring Car Championship season and the sixth running of the FIA WTCC Race of Morocco. It was held on 19 April 2015 at the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan in Marrakech, Morocco. Both races were won by Citroën Total WTCC, José María López won race one and Yvan Muller won race two. Both drivers achieved their second win at the circuit, setting a new record. Background After the first round López led the drivers' championship by five points over teammate Sébastien Loeb. Norbert Michelisz led the Yokohama Trophy standings by three points over local driver Mehdi Bennani. 2015 FIA WTCC Race Of Argentina
The 2015 FIA WTCC Race of Argentina was the opening round of the 2015 World Touring Car Championship season and the third running of the FIA WTCC Race of Argentina. It was held on 8 March 2015 at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo in Termas de Río Hondo, Santiago del Estero Province, Argentina. Both races were won by Citroën Total WTCC with race one won by José María López and race two won by Sébastien Loeb. Background A total of eighteen cars were entered for the first round of the season, all built to the TC1 regulations introduced the previous year. With this the Yokohama Trophy rules were changed to reward the best placed driver from an independent team. Tom Coronel
Tom Romeo Coronel (born 5 April 1972) is a Dutch professional racing driver. Tom's twin brother Tim is also a racer, just like their father Tom Coronel Sr. His most important results are winning the Marlboro Masters of Formula 3 race in 1997, the Formula Nippon championship in 1999, and the 2006 and 2009 World Touring Car Championship Independents' Trophy. As of September 2016, Tom Coronel has driven over 1,000 races. He is currently still racing in the WTCC, where he won his first WTCC race in Okayama, Japan in 2008. World Touring Car Championship
The FIA World Touring Car Championship was an international touring car championship promoted by Eurosport Events and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It has had several different incarnations, including a single season in 1987 as the World Touring Car Championship and most recently a world championship (WTCC) that has run between 2005 and 2017. Hugo Valente (born 17 June 1992) is a French former auto racing driver. He raced in the World Touring Car Championship for SUNRED Engineering, Campos Racing and the Lada factory team having made his debut in the series at the 2012 FIA WTCC Race of China. For 2017, he made the switch to the TCR International Series, where part way through the season he announced his retirement from motorsport. He was born in Choisy-le-Roi. Campos Racing is a Spanish motor racing team, founded by former Formula One driver Adrián Campos. The team has been successful in Formula Three and the GP2 Series. Thomas James Chilton (born 15 March 1985) is a British racing driver. He has spent most of his career competing in touring car racing; he was a former factory Vauxhall and Honda driver in the British Touring Car Championship, and currently drives for Ciceley Motorsport in the British Touring Car Championship.
