2015 Copa América Squads
The 2015 Copa América was an international football tournament held in Chile from 11 June to 4 July 2015. All twelve national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of 22 players, or 23 players if the team chose to have three goalkeepers; only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament. Each nation's squad of players were given shirt numbers 1–23. Group A Chile The final 23-player squad was announced on 30 May 2015. On 5 June 2015, midfielder Edson Puch was ruled out of the tournament due to muscle tear, being replaced by Francisco Silva. 2015 Copa América
The 2015 Copa América was the 44th edition of the Copa América, the main international football tournament for national teams in South America, and took place in Chile between 11 June and 4 July 2015. The competition was organized by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body. Twelve teams competed: the ten members of CONMEBOL and two guests from CONCACAF – Mexico and Jamaica, the latter of which competed in the Copa América for the first time. Uruguay were the defending champions, but were eliminated by the host nation Chile in the quarter-finals. Chile won their first title, defeating Argentina in the final on penalties after a goalless draw. As winners, they qualified for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia. Matías Fernández (footballer, Born 1986)
Matías Ariel Fernández Fernández (, born 15 May 1986) is a Chilean professional footballer who plays for Deportes La Serena as an attacking midfielder. He is known for his dribbling skills, also being a free kick specialist. After starting out at Colo-Colo, he spent several seasons with Villarreal, Sporting CP and Fiorentina, having moved to Europe in 2006. He also played professionally in Mexico and Colombia. Club Universidad de Chile () is a professional football club based in Santiago, Chile, that plays in the Primera División. Founded on 24 May 1927, Universidad de Chile is one of the most successful and popular football clubs in Chile, having won the league title 18 times. José Manuel Rojas Bahamondes (born 23 June 1983), known as José Rojas, is a Chilean former footballer who played as a defender. Primarily a central defender, he could also be deployed as a left-back. Club career Rojas has played the whole of his career for Universidad de Chile except a brief stint with Argentine side Independiente in 2006. He has won four league championships with Universidad de Chile, in Apertura 2004, Apertura 2009 and Apertura and Clausura 2011. Eduardo Jesús Vargas Rojas (; born 20 November 1989) is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as a forward for Brazilian Série A club Atlético Mineiro and the Chile national team.
