The 2015 British Rowing Junior Championships were the 44th edition of the National Junior Championships, held from 18–19 July 2015 at the Strathclyde Country Park in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire. They were organised and sanctioned by British Rowing, and are open to British junior rowers. Strathclyde Country Park
Strathclyde Country Park is a country park located on the outskirts of Motherwell in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, named after the former Strathclyde region of Scotland. It is often commonly referred to as Strathclyde, or simply Strathy. Description The park covers some , centred on the artificial Strathclyde Loch. It is located next to the River Clyde between Hamilton and Motherwell. Strathclyde Park forms what used to be known as the Low Parks of the now demolished Hamilton Palace and still includes buildings associated with the palace. When the loch was created in the early 1970s it involved the flooding of the old mining village of Bothwellhaugh. The park offers many amenities and attractions such as coarse angling, woodland walks, watersports, and a camping and caravanning site. One of Scotland's theme parks, M&D's, is located in the park. Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association
Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association (ASRA) was founded in 1960 by Robert Newton and Bryan Steel. It thrives today on the banks of the River Dee, Aberdeen, in Scotland. The club is affiliated to Scottish Rowing. History ASRA has been very successful in National competitions since 1960 and has won medals at 3 major competitions in Britain. In 2007 ASRA was awarded a grant from the Big Lottery Fund which allowed ASRA to employ their first paid coach, purchase boats for beginners, ergometers for schools and a minibus and towing vehicle. ASRA is expanding and hoping to build an extension to the current boathouse which was constructed in 2001. This is due to the huge increase in members due to the success of the "Wet Start" and "Dry Start" schemes. ASRA is run by 3 trustees: Bryan Steel, Alan Lawrie and Ian Duncan. Globe Rowing Club is a rowing club in Greenwich in the South East of London, England. Established in 1923, the club house and boat house are based on Crane Street in the historic centre of Greenwich, as part of the Trafalgar Rowing Trust. Its crews use the River Thames and the London Regatta Centre at the Royal Docks for water outings. The club admits male and female rowers of all ages, but is particularly known for its high performance junior programme. History The rowing club was originally established at J. Stone & Co's engineering works in Deptford's Arklow Road and was called Stones Rowing Club, with membership restricted to company employees. Glasgow Schools Rowing Club (GSRC) is a rowing club on the River Clyde, based at the East Boathouse, Glasgow Green, Glasgow. The club is affiliated to Scottish Rowing and is a collective of Glasgow Schools whose membership fees provide a large percentage of the club's registered charity income. History The club was founded in 1942 rowing from the Clydesdale Amateur Rowing Club. In 1951 the club moved to the East boathouse in Glasgow Green (built in 1924) with the club being used by 15 schools at the time. The number of schools had risen to 18 by the early 1960s but the number reduced during the 1970s. St Mungo's Academy, Whitehill Secondary School, St Aloysius' College, Glasgow, Holyrood Secondary School and Hutchesons' Grammar School remained active with the club until it reduced further in membership. The club has a strong tradition of providing rowers for the Oxford University Boat Club, Cambridge University Boat Club and international teams.
