2015 Bauchi State Gubernatorial Election
The 2015 Bauchi State gubernatorial election was the 8th gubernatorial election of Bauchi State. Held on April 11, 2015, the All Progressives Congress nominee Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar won the election, defeating Mohammed Jatau of the People's Democratic Party. APC primary APC candidate Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar defeated 7 other contestants to clinch the party ticket. He won with 930 votes to defeat his closest rival and the former Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Lame, who received 806 votes. Yusuf Tuggar received 526 votes, Sadiq Mohammed received 194 votes, Ibrahim Zailani, former member of the House of Representatives received 161 votes, Abdullahi Tanko received 92 votes, Nuhu Gidado received 86 votes, Mohammed Umar received 56 votes. Accredited voters was 2,901, vote cast was 2,865 and invalid votes was 30. Muhammad Ali Pate (born 6 September 1968) is a Nigerian physician and politician who is the current Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Nigeria since 2023. He's also a professor of the Practice of Public Health Leadership in the Department of Global Health and Population at Harvard University. The Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) was a Nigerian political party that was dominant in western Nigeria during the second republic (1978-1983). The party revolved around the political leadership of Obafemi Awolowo, a sometimes polemical politician but effective administrator. The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is a political party in Nigeria. The Alliance for Democracy is a progressive opposition political party in Nigeria. It was formed on 9 September 1998. At the 2003 legislative elections, 12 April 2003, the party won 8.8% of the popular vote and 34 out of 360 seats in the Nigerian House of Representatives and 18 out of 109 seats in the Nigerian Senate. 2019 Bauchi State Gubernatorial Election
The Bauchi 2019 Gubernatorial Election was held on 9 March 2019 and concluded on 25 March 2019. The incumbent governor Abubakar Muhammad has lost to the PDP Bala Muhammed in the 2019 Bauch state Governorship election. Mr Bala Mohammed, the former minister of FCT, polled a total votes of 515,113 votes to defeat the incumbent governor Abubakar Muhammad who polled 500,625 votes. Results A total of 2,462,803 voters were registered in the state. While a total of 1,143,019 voters were accredited. A number of 1,111,406 were recorded as valid votes while 22,566 votes were annulled. Yusuf Tuggar
Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (born 12 March 1967) is a Nigerian politician and diplomat who since 2017 is the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany. He was previously a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 representing Gamawa; and he has run twice for Governor of Bauchi State.
