Rosemary Crowley
Rosemary Anne Crowley (; born 30 July 1938) is a former Australian politician. She served as a Senator for South Australia from 1983 to 2002, representing the Australian Labor Party (ALP). In the Keating Government she held ministerial office as Minister for Family Services (1993–1996) and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Status of Women (1993). Early life and education Crowley was born in Melbourne and educated at Kilmaire Brigidine Convent. She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1961 with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery. Career She then practiced as a doctor for several years at the Clovelly Park Community Health Centre in South Australia. She was a tutor at Flinders University, and lectured at the Mothers and Babies Health Association. Crowley was a founding member of the SA Mental Health Tribunal in 1973. Stuart Smith (general)
Major General Stuart Lyle Smith, (born 1 November 1963) is a retired senior officer of the Australian Army. He commanded the 1st Division from October 2012 until November 2015, when he was appointed Deputy Chief of Joint Operations. Early life Smith was born in Sydney, New South Wales, on 1 November 1963 and educated at St Paul's College in Adelaide. His father, Bernard Lyle Smith, was a soldier in the Australian Army. In March 1969, Bernard, then an infantry sergeant in the 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, was killed by a mine detonation during his second tour of Vietnam. Military career Smith graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon, in 1984. He was appointed Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, in December 2001 and led the battalion on peacekeeping duties in Timor Leste in 2003. The Australian Army is the principal Army, land warfare force of Australia, a part of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) along with the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force. Rear Admiral Michael Julian van Balen (born 16 February 1961) is a retired senior officer of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), who served as the Deputy Chief of Navy from 2013 to January 2016. Rear Admiral (Australia)
Rear admiral is a senior naval flag officer rank, equivalent to a major general and air vice marshal and above that of a commodore and captain, but below that of a vice admiral. It is regarded as a two star "admiral" rank. It is often regarded as a two-star rank with a NATO code of OF-7. The term originated in the days of naval sailing squadrons and can trace its origins to the Royal Navy. Each naval squadron was assigned an admiral as its head, who commanded from the centre vessel and directed the squadron's activities. The admiral would in turn be assisted by a vice admiral, who commanded the lead ships that bore the brunt of a battle. In the rear of the squadron, a third admiral commanded the remaining ships and, as this section was considered to be in the least danger, the admiral in command of it was typically the most junior. The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) is the principal naval force of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The professional head of the RAN is Chief of Navy (CN) Vice Admiral Mark Hammond AM, RAN. David Tune
David John Tune (born 1954) is a retired senior Australian public servant. Between 2009 and 2014 he was Secretary of the Australian Government Finance Department. Life and career Tune joined the Australian Public Service in 1976. Between 1986 and 1988 he worked on a secondment in the British Cabinet Office. In August 2009, Tune was appointed Secretary of the Department of Finance and Deregulation. While Secretary of that Department in 2013, Tune was forced to sign off controversial tax-funded advertising intended to deter asylum seekers from making the journey to Australia by boat, during the care-taker period before an election. Andrew John Rogers (born 30 April 1933) is an Australian corporate and legal advisor, who was a Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales from 1979 to 1993. Rogers was educated at the Schweizerische Alpine Mittelschule in Davos, Switzerland, and Cranbrook School, Sydney. He graduated from Sydney Law School at the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), and was admitted to the bar in New South Wales in 1956. In 1973, he was made Queen's Counsel. Adrian Pagan
Adrian Rodney Pagan (born 12 January 1947 in Mungindi, Queensland) is an Australian economist and Professor of Economics in the School of Economics at the University of Sydney. From 1995 to 2000, he was a member of the board of the Reserve Bank of Australia.
