2015 ASB Classic
The 2015 ASB Classic was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 30th edition of the ASB Classic, and part of the WTA International tournaments category of the 2015 WTA Tour. It took place at the ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, from 5 to 10 January 2015. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). Taylor Townsend (tennis)
Taylor Townsend (born April 16, 1996) is an American professional tennis player. She reached career-high WTA rankings of world No. 61 in singles (July 2018) and No. 31 in doubles (December 2022). She also reached the doubles final of the 2022 US Open with Caty McNally. She was named the ITF Junior World Champion in 2012 for finishing the year No. 1 in the girls' rankings, making her the first American to do so since 1982. In that year, she won the junior Australian Open titles in both singles and doubles, and three out of the four junior Grand Slam doubles titles in total. Monica Puig
Monica Puig Marchán, (born September 27, 1993) is a Puerto Rican former professional tennis player. She is the first Puerto Rican in history to win a gold medal at the Olympics while representing Puerto Rico, having done so in 2016 at the women's singles event. She is also a Central American and Caribbean champion and Pan American silver medalist. Having turned professional in 2010, Puig won two WTA singles titles and six ITF singles titles. On 26 September 2016, she reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 27. On 25 May 2015, she peaked at No. 210 in the doubles rankings. Marina Erakovic ( ; hr, Marina Eraković ; born 6 March 1988) is a retired tennis player from New Zealand. She achieved career-high rankings of 39 in singles and 25 in doubles, and won one singles title, at U.S. National Indoor Tennis Championships, Memphis in February 2013, and eight doubles titles on the WTA Tour. Katherine Westbury
Katherine "Kat" Westbury ( th, แคทเธอรีน เวสบุรี; born 14 March 1993) is a Thai-New Zealand tennis player. She reached her best singles ranking of world No. 576 on 3 October 2011, and made her Women's Tennis Association, WTA Tour debut at the 2015 ASB Classic, 2015 Auckland Open. Westbury has two brothers. Aged three she moved to Bangkok, Thailand with her parents where she attended pre-school and primary school. Rosie Cheng (; born 1 August 1998) is a New Zealand former tennis player of Chinese descent. Cheng made her WTA Tour debut at the 2015 ASB Classic, having received a wildcard into the doubles tournament with Katherine Westbury. Anna-Lena Grönefeld (also spelled Groenefeld; born 4 June 1985) is a German former professional tennis player. Competing as a professional from 2003 until 2019, she won one singles title on the WTA Tour, at the 2006 Mexican Open, and reached the quarterfinals of the 2006 French Open.
