2014–15 Tennessee State Tigers Basketball Team
The 2014–15 Tennessee State Tigers basketball team represented Tennessee State University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers, led by first year head coach Dana Ford, played their home games at the Gentry Complex and were members of the East Division of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 5–26, 2–14 in OVC play to finish in last place in the East Division. They failed to qualify for the OVC Tournament. Dana Ford
Dana Ford (born June 9, 1984) is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach for Missouri State University since March 21, 2018. Prior to coaching the Bears, he was the head coach at Tennessee State from 2014 through the 2018 season. Ford is a former basketball player, having played at Illinois State from 2002 to 2006. After not being selected in the 2006 NBA draft, the Tamms, Illinois native joined the Tennessee State Tigers coaching staff under head coach John Cooper. He has previously been with Wichita State and Illinois State through his coaching career, playing a key role in the teams' recruiting and overall success. Playing career Ford attended Egyptian Senior High School in Tamms, Illinois. He became one of the most dangerous high school guards in the area and broke the school record for points scored by the end of his final season. Barclays Center Classic
The Barclays Center Classic is an annual early season college basketball tournament that was inaugurated in 2012. Each of the eight schools plays four games, with the bracketed portion of the tournament concluding at the tournament's namesake Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. History The first tournament was held as a five-team round-robin tournament. Most games were at campus sites; a doubleheader featuring Kentucky and Maryland on ESPN with an undercard game featuring LIU Brooklyn and Morehead State served as the centerpiece of the tournament. 2012 Final standings 2013 The 2013 edition was expanded to eight teams, with each team playing four games. Memorial Gymnasium (Vanderbilt University)
Memorial Gymnasium is a multi-purpose facility located in Nashville, Tennessee. Usually called Memorial Gym or simply Memorial, the building is located on the western end of the Vanderbilt University campus. It was built in 1952 and currently has a seating capacity of 14,326. It serves as home court for the school's men's and women's basketball programs, and will also serve as the home of Vanderbilt's upcoming women's volleyball program, scheduled to begin play in 2025. Construction and unusual design Memorial Gymnasium was built in the early 1950s, designed by Edwin A. Keeble. It was dedicated as the campus memorial to students and alumni killed in World War II; a plaque commemorating these people is displayed in the lobby. 2014–15 Vanderbilt Commodores Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball team represented Vanderbilt University in the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team's head coach was Kevin Stallings, in his sixteenth season at Vanderbilt. The team played their home games at Memorial Gymnasium (Vanderbilt University), Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee, as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 21–14, 9–9 in SEC play to finish in seventh place. They lost in the second round of the 2015 SEC men's basketball tournament, SEC tournament where they lost to Tennessee. They were invited to the 2015 National Invitation Tournament, National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Saint Mary's in the first round and South Dakota State in the second round before losing in the quarterfinals to Stanford.
