2014–15 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup
The 2014–15 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was the 36th World Cup season in ski jumping for men, the 18th official World Cup season in ski flying and the 4th World Cup season for ladies. It began on 22 November 2014 and ended on 22 March 2015 in Planica, Slovenia. A break took place during the season in February for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun, Sweden. The defending champions from the previous season were Kamil Stoch from Poland, Peter Prevc from Slovenia as defending ski flying champion, and Sara Takanashi from Japan. The 63rd Four Hills Tournament offered extra prize money. Stefan Kraft of Austria won the tournament for the first time, followed by Michael Hayböck of Austria and Peter Prevc. February 2015 saw an improvement of the world record in ski jumping distance. On 14 February, Peter Prevc set the new mark with in Vikersund, Norway. Severin Freund
Severin Freund (born 11 May 1988) is a German former ski jumper and current TV expert. He competed at World Cup level from 2008 to 2022, and is one of the most successful ski jumpers from Germany, having won the overall World Cup title in 2015, and scoring 22 individual World Cup wins. As a member of the German national team, Freund won a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics and later became the 2015 World Champion on both the large hill and mixed team competitions. Career Having made his Continental Cup debut in December 2004, his best result is the victory from Lillehammer in September 2008. Michael Hayböck
Michael "Michi" Hayböck (; born 5 March 1991) is an Austrian ski jumper. Career He took his first World Cup win on 6 January 2015 in Bischofshofen in the final event of the Four Hills Tournament 2014/15. He is a junior world champion from Hinterzarten 2010. Hayböck competed for Austria in both individual men's ski jumping events at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He qualified for the finals in both events and placed 5th in the normal hill competition and 8th in the large hill. Then as part of the Austrian team along with Thomas Morgenstern, Thomas Diethart and Gregor Schlierenzauer he took a silver in the team large hill competition at the same games. Vikersundbakken
Vikersundbakken or Vikersund Hill is a ski flying hill at Vikersund in Modum, Norway. It is one of the two largest purpose-built ski flying hills in the world. Nine world records have been set there, including the current record of 253.5 meters, set by Stefan Kraft. The complex consists of a large hill, a normal hill and several training hills. The hill originally constructed by Kristian Hovde was opened in 1936 as a large hill. It was rebuilt as ski flying hill in 1964, and was modified in 1989, 1999 and 2010.
