2014–15 England Hockey League Season
The 2014–15 English Hockey League season took place from September 2014 until April 2015. The regular season consisted of two periods September until December and then February until March. The end of season playoffs were held on the 18 & 19 of April. The Men's Championship was won by Wimbledon and the Women's Championship was won by Surbiton. The Men's Cup was won by Reading and the Women's Cup was won by Surbiton. Men's England Hockey League
The Men's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organized by England Hockey that features men's teams from England and Wales. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of twelve teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten-team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. The league has a winter break between December and February. The winners of the Premier Division regular season automatically qualify to play in the Euro Hockey League. League Finals Weekend The top four Premier Division teams from the regular season qualify for the League Finals Weekend. Leicester Hockey Club
Leicester City Hockey Club is a professional field hockey club based in Leicester, England, who play their home games at St. Margaret's Pastures. The ladies side has produced a number of international players and is recognised as one of the most successful clubs in England having won six league titles. Teams The ladies team was established in 1894 and the men's section was launched in 2018. The club currently fields five ladies teams, two men's teams and various youth teams. The ladies 1st XI play in the Women's England Hockey League. The men's teams, and the remainder of the ladies teams, play in the Midland Regional Hockey Association, Midlands League. The Academy Leicester City Hockey Club recently launched their junior academy with training, matches and tournaments for junior players aged 6-18. Ashley Jackson (field Hockey)
Ashley Steven Jackson (born 27 August 1987) is an English field hockey player who plays club hockey as a defender or midfielder for Old Georgians'. He represented the England and Great Britain national teams from 2006 until 2021. In December 2014 Jackson began playing ice hockey for Invicta Dynamos, scoring a goal on his debut against London Raiders. In June 2017, together with his brother, Wesley Jackson, he founded Jackson coaching. Club career Jackson plays club hockey in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division for Old Georgians', whom he joined in 2019. Alan Forsyth
Alan Forsyth (born 5 April 1992) is a Scottish field hockey player who plays as a forward for HGC and the Scotland and Great Britain national teams. He is the son of Derek Forsyth, the head coach of Scotland. Club career Forsyth plays club hockey in the Dutch Hoofdklasse for Dutch club HGC. Blake Govers (born 6 July 1996) is an Australian field hockey player who plays as a forward for the NSW Pride in the Hockey One, Hockey One League and the Australia men's national field hockey team, Australian national team. Mark Pearn
Mark Pearn (born 21 March 1977 in Bristol, England) is a male retired English field hockey player. Hockey career Pearn was a member of the England and Great Britain squads, making his debut for England against the Netherlands in the 1995 Champions Trophy in Berlin. He scored his first international goal against India in the tournament to become the youngest player to score for England at just 18 years old. He participated in two Summer Olympics in 2000 and 2004, as well as in the 1998 Men's Hockey World Cup, the 2002 Men's Hockey World Cup, the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Pearn was voted UK Player of the Year by members of the Hockey Writers' Club twice, in 2000 and 2011.
