A3 Basket is a women's basketball club in Umeå, Sweden. The club was established with the 2012 squad from KFUM Umeå women's basketball section "Umeå Comets" after the club had decided to discontinue their women's team. Basketligan Seasons
Svenska Basketligan, or the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), is the premier league for professional basketball in Sweden. The league was originally established in 1992 as Basketligan and was known as that prior to the season of 2006–07, but when the Swedish company Obol Investment signed an agreement with the Swedish Basketball Federation in early October 2006, the league was renamed Obol Basketball League (OBL). In January 2007 the name was changed to Ligan, meaning simply the League. History On October 6, 2006, the Swedish Basketball Federation signed a 15-year agreement with Swiss company Obol Investment. Part of the deal was that ''Basketligan'' would be renamed ''Obol Basketball League''. Other parts of the deal include that the winning team would receive prize money if the team were to play in the EuroLeague during the following season. Alex Wesby
Alex Wesby (born July 5, 1980) is an American retired basketball player from Philadelphia. He played for Temple in college and played as a professional player in multiple countries in Europe. Career In the 2010–11 season, Wesby played in Sweden for Sundsvall Dragons. He won the Most Valuable Player award of the Swedish League, as well as the award for the Best Defender. Wesby signed with GasTerra Flames from Groningen, Netherlands for the 2011–12 season. He reached the semifinals with Groningen and was named to the All-DBL Team. He returned to the Sundsvall Dragons for his fourth stand with the club for the 2012–13 season. He signed till 2015. Christian Maråker
Christian Erik Maråker (born 24 September 1982) is a Swedish basketball player for Borås Basket of the Basketligan. A 6'9" center/power forward, he played college basketball in the United States at the University of the Pacific from 2002 to 2006. Career Maråker attended Sanda Gymnasium in Huskvarna, Sweden. After his second season at Sanda, he moved to the Sodertalje Club Team. He earned all-star honors at both the Under 20 Swedish Championships in 2001 and the Junior Swedish Championships in 2000. He also earned Stadium Cup Most Valuable Player honors in 2001. At the 2001 Stockholm Club Tournament, Maråker scored 26 points in the championship game against the Solna Club team from Stockholm. He played for two years with the Swedish Under 20 National Team. At Pacific he averaged 17.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
