X-League Indoor Football (X-League) was a professional indoor football minor league that began play in 2014. The league was co-chaired by Michael Mink and Kacee Smith. On September 19, 2015, the league announced a merger with the future "North American Indoor Football" but later stated the merger would not go forward as announced and disbanded. History The league was originally going to be known as the Xtreme Indoor Football League, but when LaMonte Coleman removed his teams (the Continental Indoor Football League's Marion Blue Racers and a new team that was to be known as the Columbus Beast; Coleman would eventually bring the Blue Racers to the league in 2015), the league re-branded themselves as the X-League. XIFL co-founder Andrew Haines, who had previously founded the Ultimate Indoor Football League and Atlantic Indoor Football League, left the XIFL before the league played its first game. Indoor American Football
Indoor American football, or arena football, is a variation of gridiron football played at ice hockey-sized indoor arenas. The Florida Marine Raiders (formerly the Lakeland Raiders) were a professional indoor football team; though they began play in 2012 as a member of the Ultimate Indoor Football League, for 2014 they became a charter member of the X-League Indoor Football (X-League). The Alabama Outlawz were a professional Indoor American football, indoor football team that resumed play in Arena Pro Football. They last played in the 2017 season at the Shelby County Exhibition Center in Columbiana, Alabama. They previously played in X-League Indoor Football while based in Birmingham, Alabama, with home games at Bill Harris Arena. Franchise history It was announced in November 2013 that the Alabama Outlawz would be joining X-League Indoor Football for its inaugural 2014 X-League Indoor Football season, 2014 season, playing their home games in Bill Harris Arena at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Georgia Rampage
The Georgia Rampage were a professional indoor football team based in Dalton, Georgia. They were members of X-League Indoor Football (X-League). The Rampage joined the X-League in 2014, after a few members of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) had planned on making a new league. The Rampage originally began play in 2012 as an expansion team of the UIFL, going by the name of the Rome Rampage. The Rampage played their home games at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center in Dalton. The Dalton Convention Center is a multi-purpose venue in Dalton, Georgia built in 1991. Owned by the city of Dalton and by Whitfield County, the Convention Center is operated by the general manager and director of tourism, Doug Phipps and Margaret Thigpen. The Family Arena is a multi-purpose arena in St. Charles, Missouri, built in 1999. The arena seats 9,643 for hockey, 9,755 for football, 10,467 for basketball, 6,339 for half-house concerts and up to 11,522 for end-stage concerts. In addition to sporting events, concerts, circuses and ice shows the arena is also used for trade shows with a total of of exhibit space ( on the arena floor and on the arena concourse). Bill Harris Arena
The W. F. "Bill" Harris State Fair Arena (called Bill Harris Arena or Fair Park Arena) is a 5,000-seat multipurpose indoor arena located at the Alabama State Fairgrounds. The arena is used primarily for basketball, but also hosts concerts and other events. The arena has previously served as the home of the Birmingham Magicians and the Birmingham Blitz of the American Basketball Association and the Alabama Outlawz of X-League Indoor Football.
