The 2015 X-League Indoor Football season was the second season for the X-League. The biggest change in the off-season is the addition of the Cape Fear Heroes, Corpus Christi Fury, Florida Tarpons, Rio Grande Valley Sol, Marion Blue Racers, and Bloomington Edge. X-League Indoor Football
X-League Indoor Football (X-League) was a professional indoor football minor league that began play in 2014. The league was co-chaired by Michael Mink and Kacee Smith. On September 19, 2015, the league announced a merger with the future "North American Indoor Football" but later stated the merger would not go forward as announced and disbanded. History The league was originally going to be known as the Xtreme Indoor Football League, but when LaMonte Coleman removed his teams (the Continental Indoor Football League's Marion Blue Racers and a new team that was to be known as the Columbus Beast; Coleman would eventually bring the Blue Racers to the league in 2015), the league re-branded themselves as the X-League. ''The Pantagraph'' is a daily newspaper that serves Bloomington–Normal, Illinois, along with 60 communities and eight counties in the Central Illinois area. Its headquarters are in Bloomington and it is owned by Lee Enterprises. The name is derived from the Greek words "panta" and "grapho," which has a combined meaning of "write all things." The Alabama Outlawz were a professional Indoor American football, indoor football team that resumed play in Arena Pro Football. They last played in the 2017 season at the Shelby County Exhibition Center in Columbiana, Alabama. They previously played in X-League Indoor Football while based in Birmingham, Alabama, with home games at Bill Harris Arena. Franchise history It was announced in November 2013 that the Alabama Outlawz would be joining X-League Indoor Football for its inaugural 2014 X-League Indoor Football season, 2014 season, playing their home games in Bill Harris Arena at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Georgia Rampage
The Georgia Rampage were a professional indoor football team based in Dalton, Georgia. They were members of X-League Indoor Football (X-League). The Rampage joined the X-League in 2014, after a few members of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) had planned on making a new league. The Rampage originally began play in 2012 as an expansion team of the UIFL, going by the name of the Rome Rampage. The Rampage played their home games at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center in Dalton. 2015 Marion Blue Racers Season
The 2015 Marion Blue Racers season was the fifth season for the indoor football franchise, and their first in the X-League Indoor Football. On October 22, 2014, the Blue Racers announced that former Kentucky Drillers owner and coach, Rick Kranz would be the team's head coach for the 2015 season. After a 2–2 start to the season, Owner LaMonte Coleman fired Kranz, and named himself the teams interim head coach. The Racers finished the season 5–3, but in a 4-way tie for 3rd place, causing the Blue Racers to miss the playoffs. The Bloomington Edge was a professional indoor football team based in Bloomington, Illinois. While it was in operation, the team hosted home games at Grossinger Motors Arena. Originally named the Bloomington Extreme, the team was a member of United Indoor Football (UIF), and joined the Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2009 during the UIF and Intense Football League merger. They left the IFL for the Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) in 2013, and in 2015 the CPIFL merged with the Lone Star Football League (LSFL) to create Champions Indoor Football (CIF), where Bloomington did not follow and joined X-League Indoor Football (X-League). Following the 2015 season the Edge joined the CIF. The Marion Blue Racers were a professional indoor football team based in Marion, Ohio. The Blue Racers began play as an expansion team in the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) in 2011, before moving to the United Indoor Football League (UIFL) for the 2012 season. The Blue Racers returned to the CIFL in 2013. The team had announced that it would be joining the Xtreme Indoor Football League (XIFL) for the 2014, but later re-signed with the CIFL.
