2014 WTA Shenzhen Open
The 2014 Shenzhen Open (known as ''2014 Shenzhen Gemdale Open'' for sponsorship reason) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the second edition of the Shenzhen Open, and was part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2014 WTA Tour. It took place at the Shenzhen Longgang Sports Center in Shenzhen, China, from 29 December 2013 to 5 January 2014. Hard Court (tennis)
A tennis court is the venue where the sport of tennis is played. It is a firm rectangular surface with a low net stretched across the centre. The same surface can be used to play both Types of tennis match, doubles and singles matches. A variety of surfaces can be used to create a tennis court, each with its own characteristics which affect the playing style of the game. Dimensions The dimensions of a tennis court are defined and regulated by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) governing body and are written down in the annual 'Rules of Tennis' document. Annika Beck (; born 16 February 1994) is a German former professional tennis player. She started playing tennis at the age of four when introduced to the game by her parents. A baseliner whose favorite shot is forehand, and favorite surface is hardcourt. She was coached by Jakub Záhlava and Sebastian Sachs. Nadiia Viktorivna Kichenok ( uk, Надія Вікторівна Кіченок, born 20 July 1992) is a Ukrainian professional tennis player. On 6 January 2014, she reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 100. Donna Vekić (; born 28 June 1996) is a Croatian professional tennis player and businesswoman.
