2014 WTA Shenzhen Open
The 2014 Shenzhen Open (known as ''2014 Shenzhen Gemdale Open'' for sponsorship reason) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the second edition of the Shenzhen Open, and was part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2014 WTA Tour. It took place at the Shenzhen Longgang Sports Center in Shenzhen, China, from 29 December 2013 to 5 January 2014. A tennis court is the venue where the sport of tennis is played. It is a firm rectangular surface with a low net stretched across the centre. The same surface can be used to play both Types of tennis match, doubles and singles matches. A variety of surfaces can be used to create a tennis court, each with its own characteristics which affect the playing style of the game.
