2014 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships
The 2014 P&G U.S. National Gymnastics Championships was the 51st edition of the U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. The competition was held from August 21–24, 2014 at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Event information The fifty-first edition of the Championships, the competition was held at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; the home arena of the Pittsburgh Penguins. It was the first time the U.S. Championships have been held in Pennsylvania since 2001 and just the fourth since 1973. The competition was televised by NBC Sports Network. CONSOL Energy Center
PPG Paints Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Pittsburgh, that serves as the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). It previously was the home of the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League (2010), Arena Football League (AFL) from 2011 to 2014. Construction was completed on August 1, 2010, and the arena opened in time for the 2010–11 NHL season. It replaced the Penguins' former arena, Civic Arena (Pittsburgh), Civic Arena (formerly known as Mellon Arena), which was completed in 1961. A ceremonial ground-breaking was held on August 14, 2008. Norah Flatley
Norah Irene Flatley (born March 10, 2000, in San Diego, California) is an American artistic gymnast. She is the 2014 Pacific Rim junior balance beam champion. She previously competed for the UCLA Bruins and also competed for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Early life Norah Flatley was born on March 10, 2000, in San Diego to Terrence Flatley and Ann McKenzie. She is the youngest of four children. One of Flatley's sisters, Anna, was a competitive gymnast, and at the age of four Flatley wanted to join her. She enrolled in gymnastics classes at Salto Gymnastics in Wisconsin. Naturally gifted, Flatley made both the 2007 and 2009 National TOPs teams. Nia Camille Dennis (born February 23, 1999) is a retired American collegiate artistic gymnast. She was a member of the USA National Team from 2012–16. She is the 2014 Pacific Rim team champion and junior all-around and vault silver medalist. She was a member of the UCLA Bruins women's gymnastics team. Gymnastics career Career beginnings 2010–12 Dennis competed at the 2010 Covergirl Classic in the 10-11 Hopes Division, where she placed second. In 2011 Dennis qualified to Junior International Elite status. She qualified to the Covergirl Classic in the Junior division. She finished 21st of 36 participants, with a score of 50.450 and therefore did not advance to the National Championships. Jazmyn Foberg (born February 2, 2000) is an American artistic gymnast. She was the 2014 junior national all-around and uneven bars champion, as well as a member of the United States Junior National Team. Starting in 2017, she is competing on the Florida Gators women's gymnastics team at the University of Florida. Career 2014 In August 2014, Foberg competed at the Secret U.S. Classic, where she placed fifth in the all-around, tied for third on vault, tied for sixth on uneven bars, placed seventh on balance beam, and tied for eleventh on floor exercise. Alyssa Baumann
Alyssa Lyn Baumann (born May 17, 1998) is a retired American artistic gymnast, and has competed for the United States at international events as well as for University of Florida team. Baumann is the 2014 and 2015 United States silver medalist on the balance beam. She was a member of the 2014 World Championship team that won gold. Madison Taylor Kocian (born June 15, 1997) is a retired American artistic gymnast. On the uneven bars, she is one of four 2015 world champions and the 2016 Olympic silver medalist. She was part of the gold medal-winning team dubbed the " Final Five" at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and was a member of the first-place American teams at the 2014 and 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Ashton Taylor Locklear (born January 13, 1998) is a retired American artistic gymnast from North Carolina. She was a member of the gold medal-winning United States team at the 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, and is a two-time national champion on the uneven bars (2014, 2016). MyKayla Brooke Skinner Harmer (born December 9, 1996) is an American former artistic gymnast. She was the 2020 Olympic vault silver medalist and was an alternate for the 2016 Olympic team. Margaret Mary Nichols (born September 12, 1997) is an American former collegiate artistic gymnast. She was the ninth NCAA gymnast to complete a Gym Slam, the first to do so for Oklahoma, and the first NCAA gymnast to have achieved it twice. Previously, Nichols represented the United States in international competitions, including the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, where she won a gold medal with the American team and an individual bronze medal on floor exercise. Kyla Briana Ross (born October 24, 1996) is a retired American artistic gymnast and current assistant coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks gymnastics team. She is the first female gymnast to win NCAA, World, and Olympic championship titles. Ross was an elite gymnast from 2009 to 2016.
