2014 Slovenian Supercup
The 2014 Slovenian Supercup, known as Superpokal Telekom Slovenije 2014 due to sponsorship reasons, was the tenth edition of the Slovenian Supercup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Slovenian PrvaLiga and Slovenian Cup competitions. The match was played on 13 August 2014 at the Nova Gorica Sports Park stadium in Nova Gorica between the 2013–14 Slovenian Cup winners Gorica and the 2013–14 Slovenian PrvaLiga winners Maribor. Slovenian Supercup
The Slovenian Supercup ( sl, Superpokal Slovenije) was a football match played between the Slovenian PrvaLiga champions and the Slovenian Cup winners. Prior 2007, the match was held only twice, in 1995 and 1996. The competition was resurrected in 2007 and was held annually for nine seasons, before it was abolished after the 2015 edition. 2014–15 NK Maribor Season
The 2014–15 season was Maribor's 55th season of football and the club's 24th consecutive season in the Slovenian PrvaLiga since the league establishment in 1991. After the 2013–14 season when Maribor won the PrvaLiga and Supercup titles, the club continued with their dominance in domestic competitions during the 2014–15 season and has managed to add another two titles among club honours; they have won their 13th league and their fourth supercup title. Unlike the previous season, when Maribor were runners-up in the Slovenian Football Cup, this season Maribor was knocked out from the competition one round earlier when Celje defeated them 3–2 on aggregate during the semi-final of the 2014–15 Slovenian Football Cup. Stephen Ayodele Makinwa (born 26 July 1983) is a retired Nigerian footballer who played as a striker. Makinwa also played for the Nigerian national team. His name, Ayodele, means "''Joy has come home''". Club career Early career Makinwa was born in Lagos, Nigeria. Marco Modolo (born 23 March 1989) is an former Italian professional footballer who played as a Defender Career Born in San Donà di Piave in the Province of Venice, Veneto, Modolo started his career at Lombard club Internazionale. The 2013–14 Slovenian PrvaLiga was the 23rd edition of the Slovenian PrvaLiga since its establishment in 1991. Also known by the abbreviation 1. SNL, PrvaLiga was contested by the top ten clubs in Slovenia, for the title of national champions. The fixture schedule was released on 28 June 2013.
