2014 Serbian Local Elections
A small number of municipalities in Serbia held local elections in 2014. These were not part of the country's regular cycle of local elections but instead took place in certain jurisdictions where either the local government had fallen or the last local elections for four-year terms had taken place in 2010. All local elections in 2014 were held under proportional representation. Mayors were not directly elected but were instead chosen by elected members of the local assemblies. Parties were required to cross a five per cent electoral threshold (of all votes, not only of valid votes), although this requirement was waived for parties representing national minority communities. Greens Of Serbia
The Greens of Serbia ( sr, Зелени Србије, Zeleni Srbije; abbr. ЗС or ''ZS'') is a green political party in Serbia. Established on 14 September 2007, this party advocates environmental and ecological wisdom, social justice and solidarity, direct democracy, green economics, sustainability, respect for diversity and human rights, and prevention of all forms of violence. The Greens of Serbia has observer status in the Global Greens and is applicant for the European Green Party. In early 2014 the ZS had signed political cooperation with the New Democratic Party, a political fraction of the Democratic Party led by its former leader and the nation's president Boris Tadić. Čedomir Jovanović
Čedomir "Čeda" Jovanović ( sr-cyr, Чедомир "Чеда" Јовановић, ; born 13 April 1971) is a Serbian politician and businessman. During the presidency of Slobodan Milošević in Yugoslavia, Jovanović became one of the student leaders of the 1996–1997 protests in Serbia at the age of 25. Jovanović along with fellow student Čedomir Antić were one of the founding members of the "Student Political Club", abbreviated in Serbian as SPK, which successfully organized a massive boycott of the 1997 Serbian general election. In February 1998, the bulk of the SPK membership along with Jovanović himself joined the Democratic Party. After the overthrow of Slobodan Milošević, Jovanović was selected by the Democratic Opposition of Serbia to be one of its MPs, and he subsequently became the youngest parliamentary caucus leader in Serbian history, at the age of 29. Ivica Dačić
Ivica Dačić ( sr-cyr, Ивица Дачић, ; born 1 January 1966) is a Serbian politician serving as first deputy prime minister of Serbia and minister of foreign affairs since 2022, roles which he previously served under governments of Mirko Cvetković, Aleksandar Vučić, and Ana Brnabić. He has been the leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) since 2006. Dačić graduated from the University of Belgrade in 1989 and joined SPS in 1991. He quickly rose up the ranks of the party, becoming its spokesman in 1992, under his mentor, Slobodan Milošević, President of Serbia and FR Yugoslavia. Živko Marković ( sr-Cyrl, Живко Марковић; born 23 March 1952), known as Bata, is a Serbian politician. He has served two terms in the Assembly of Vojvodina and three terms as president of the Pećinci municipal assembly. During his time as an elected official, Marković was a member of the Democratic Party (DS). Private career Marković is from the village of Subotište in Pećinci. He is a graduated manager. Aleksandar Vučić
Aleksandar Vučić ( sr-Cyrl, Александар Вучић, ; born 5 March 1970) is a Serbian politician serving as the president of Serbia since 2017, and as the president of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) since 2012. Vučić served as the Prime Minister of Serbia in two terms, from 2014 to 2016 and from 2016 until 2017, as well as the deputy prime minister from 2012 until 2014. Furthermore, he served as a member of the Serbian parliament, Minister of Information from 1998 to 2000, and later as Minister of Defence from 2012 to 2013. Sava Čojčić
Sava Čojčić ( sr-Cyrl, Сава Чојчић; born 15 January 1968) is a Serbian politician. He served in the National Assembly of Serbia from 2008 to 2011 and was the mayor Pećinci from 2012 to 2013. Čojčić has at different times been a member of G17 Plus, the United Regions of Serbia (URS), and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). Pećinci (, ; hu, Pecsince) is a village and municipality located in the Srem District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The village has a population of 2,581 (2011), while Pećinci municipality has 19,720 inhabitants. Name In Serbo-Croatian, the village is known as ''Pećinci'' (Пећинци), in Hungarian as ''Pecsince'', in German as ''Petschinzi'', in Slovak as ''Pečinci'', and in Rusyn as Печинци.
