2014 Selangor FA Season
The 2014 Selangor FA Season is Selangor FA's 9th season playing soccer in the Malaysia Super League since its inception in 2004. This was Mehmet Durakovic's first season as manager and coach of the team. He replaced the interim manager, P. Maniam, who in turn had been serving in that capacity after Irfan Bakti Abu Salim resigned in 2013. Selangor FA began the season on 18 January 2014. They will also compete in three domestic cups; The FA Cup Malaysia, Malaysia Cup and also in an international cup; AFC Cup. Selangor Football Club (Malay: ''Kelab Bola Sepak Selangor''), commonly referred to as Selangor F.C. is a Malaysian professional football club based in the city of Shah Alam, Selangor, that currently competes in the Malaysia Super League, the top tier of Malaysian football. The club is nicknamed the Red Giants. The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The Malaysia FA Cup ( ms, Piala FA) is an annual national knock-out football tournament in Malaysia. The cup was first held in 1990. The competition was previously managed by Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), before being transferred to Football Malaysia LLP (MFL) (now known as Malaysian Football League) in the 2016 season. Irfan Bakti Abu Salim
Irfan Bakti Abu Salim is a Malaysian football coach, who is head coach of the Malaysia Premier League club Kuching City. Playing career He had played with Kelantan FA and ATM FA in 1970s. He also was in the Malaysia squad for the 1976 AFC Asian Cup in Tehran, Iran. Coaching career Beginnings He spent most of his early coaching days as a coach with the Football Association of Malaysia in Wisma FAM.
