2014 Philadelphia Soul Season
The Philadelphia Soul season was the ninth season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Clint Dolezel and played their home games at the Wells Fargo Center. The Soul finished the regular season 9–9, which was good enough for a playoff berth. However, they were eliminated in the first round by the Cleveland Gladiators on a field goal as time expired, losing by a score of 39–37. Clint Dolezel
Clint Dolezel (born March 25, 1970) is an American football coach and former professional arena football player in the Arena Football League (AFL). Dolezel was a quarterback in the AFL before becoming the head coach of the AFL's Philadelphia Soul from 2013 until the league folded in 2019. He played college football at East Texas State, and was in the AFL for 13 seasons from 1995 to 2008. Dolezel first became a head coach in 2010 with the San Angelo Stampede Express of the Indoor Football League (IFL). After just a single season, Dolezel returned to the AFL as the head coach of the Dallas Vigilantes. After the Vigilantes franchise suspended operations, Dolezel joined the Philadelphia Soul as their offensive coordinator under head coach Doug Plank. Plank left the Soul following the 2012 season, and the Soul promoted Dolezel to head coach. CFE Arena
Addition Financial Arena (formerly known as CFE Arena and UCF Arena) is a sports and entertainment arena located in Orlando, Florida, United States, on the main campus of the University of Central Florida. It was constructed beginning in 2006 as a replacement for the original UCF arena, and as a part of Knights Plaza. The arena is home to the UCF Knights men's and women's basketball teams. Daniel "Red" Raudabaugh (born March 30, 1987) is an American football coach, former player, who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Frisco Fighters. He played college football at Miami University. High school career Raudabaugh attended Coppell High School, in Coppell, Texas, where he was a member of the football and baseball team. He completed 95-of-187 passes for 1,282 yards and eight touchdowns during his senior season and was a second-team all-district selection in 2004. Bryan Randall (born August 16, 1983) is a professional American football quarterback who is a free agent. He was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies. Wells Fargo Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. Part of the Iowa Events Center, the arena opened on July 12, 2005, at a cost of $117 million. The Cleveland Gladiators season was the 15th season for the franchise in the Arena Football League, and their fifth while in Cleveland. The team was coached by Steve Thonn and plays their home games at Quicken Loans Arena. By finishing the regular season with a 17–1 record, the Gladiators set a league record for wins in a single season (this record was tied one year later by the San Jose SaberCats).
