2014 Ontario Municipal Elections
The 2014 municipal elections in Ontario were held on October 27, 2014. Voters in the province of Ontario elected mayors, councillors, school board trustees and all other elected officials in all of the List of municipalities in Ontario, province's municipalities. Electoral period Submissions for candidate nominations were first accepted on 1 January 2014, at which time the campaign period began. The last day for acceptance of nominations or candidacy withdrawal was 12 September 2014. From 1978 until 2006 the second Monday of November was the fixed date. Scott Aitchison (born January 14, 1973) is a Canadian politician who was elected to represent the riding of Parry Sound—Muskoka in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2019 Canadian federal election. Prior to his election, he served as mayor of Huntsville from 2014 until 2019. Aitchison ran in the 2022 leadership election for the Conservative Party of Canada, coming in last with 1% of the vote. Bracebridge is a town and the seat of the Muskoka District Municipality in Ontario, Canada. The town was built around a waterfall on the Muskoka River in the centre of town, and is known for its other nearby waterfalls (Wilson's Falls, High Falls, etc.). It was first incorporated in 1875.
