2014 Memorial Cup
The 2014 Memorial Cup was a four-team, round-robin format tournament played from May 16–25, 2014 in London, Ontario. It was the 96th Memorial Cup championship and determined the champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The tournament featured the Guelph Storm, champions of the Ontario Hockey League; the Val-d'Or Foreurs, champions of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League; the Edmonton Oil Kings, champions of the Western Hockey League; and the London Knights, who won the right to host the tournament over bids by the Barrie Colts and the Windsor Spitfires. London last hosted the Memorial Cup in 2005. The semi-final match on May 23 between Val-d'Or and Edmonton was, at 102 minutes and 42 seconds, the longest game in Memorial Cup history and to date is the only game to go into triple overtime. Budweiser Gardens
Budweiser Gardens is a sports-entertainment centre, in London, Ontario, Canada – the largest such centre in Southwestern Ontario. Until 2012, it was known as the John Labatt Centre. The John Labatt Centre, which opened on October 11, 2002, was named after John Labatt, founder of the Labatt brewery in London. Labatt still has a large brewery in London to the present day, although its head office was moved to Toronto in the early 1990s. The John Labatt Centre's name was changed to Budweiser Gardens (after Labatt's sister brand in AB InBev) in Fall 2012, as approved by London City Council on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 with a vote of 12–3. Windsor Spitfires
The Windsor Spitfires are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The team is based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Tyler Bertuzzi
Tyler Bertuzzi (born February 24, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Bertuzzi was drafted 58th overall by the Red Wings in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior Bertuzzi was drafted 78th overall in the 2011 OHL Entry Draft by the Guelph Storm. During the 2011–12 season, Bertuzzi played in 61 games for Guelph in his first full year in the OHL. Making his OHL debut on September 22, 2011, he recorded a fight. Ashton Sautner
Ashton Sautner (born May 27, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing for the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract with the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Sautner was selected by the Edmonton Oil Kings in the eighth round (162nd overall) of the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft. Henrik Samuelsson (born February 7, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey player of Swedish ancestry. He is currently playing for HK Levice in the Slovak 1. Liga. Brock McGinn (born February 2, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted 47th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Anthony Stolarz (born January 20, 1994), is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Philadelphia Flyers and Edmonton Oilers. Born in Edison, New Jersey, and raised in Jackson Township, Stolarz and his brother Todd played junior ice hockey within the New Jersey Devils organization. The 1992 Memorial Cup occurred May 9–17 at the Coliseum in Seattle. It was the 74th annual Memorial Cup competition and determined the major junior ice hockey champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Participating teams were the Western Hockey League host Seattle Thunderbirds, as well as the winners of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Western Hockey League and Ontario Hockey League which were the Verdun Collège Français, Kamloops Blazers and Sault Ste.
