2014 Los Angeles Kiss Season
The Los Angeles Kiss season was the franchise's first season in the Arena Football League (AFL). The team was coached by Bob McMillen and played their home games at the Honda Center. In their inaugural season, the Kiss did well at the box office, finishing second in the AFL (behind Tampa Bay) in attendance, drawing 98,505 fans to nine home games (or 10,945 per game). On the field, though, it was a different story: after winning two of their first three games, LA managed just one victory thereafter, finishing 3–15 and missing the playoffs. Bob McMillen (American Football)
Robert James McMillen, Jr. (born October 28, 1970) is a former arena football fullback/linebacker and head coach. He was most recently the head coach of the Los Angeles Kiss of the Arena Football League (AFL). He played his college football at Benedictine University, Illinois-Benedictine, and was an AFL fullback/linebacker from 1995 to 2007. He began coaching the sport in 2010, first serving as an assistant for the Chicago Slaughter in 2010, as an assistant with the Rush in 2011, before being named head coach of the Rush in 2011. In 2013, McMillen was elected into the Arena Football Hall of Fame. 2013 Spokane Shock Season
The Spokane Shock season was the eighth season for the franchise, and the fourth in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Andy Olson and played their home games at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. With a 14–4 record in the regular season, the Shock qualified for the playoffs. However, they were defeated by the Arizona Rattlers in the conference championship game by a 65–57 score. 2014 Cleveland Gladiators Season
The Cleveland Gladiators season was the 15th season for the franchise in the Arena Football League, and their fifth while in Cleveland. The team was coached by Steve Thonn and plays their home games at Quicken Loans Arena. By finishing the regular season with a 17–1 record, the Gladiators set a league record for wins in a single season (this record was tied one year later by the San Jose SaberCats). 2014 Portland Thunder Season
The Portland Thunder season was the inaugural season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Matthew Sauk and played its home games at the Moda Center. With a 5–13 record in the regular season, the Thunder qualified for the playoffs. However, they were defeated in the conference semifinals by the Arizona Rattlers by a 52–48 score. CFE Arena
Addition Financial Arena (formerly known as CFE Arena and UCF Arena) is a sports and entertainment arena located in Orlando, Florida, United States, on the main campus of the University of Central Florida. It was constructed beginning in 2006 as a replacement for the original UCF arena, and as a part of Knights Plaza. The arena is home to the UCF Knights men's and women's basketball teams. Alamodome
The Alamodome is a 64,000-seat domed indoor multi-purpose stadium in San Antonio, Texas. It is located on the southeastern fringe of downtown San Antonio. The facility opened on May 15, 1993, having been constructed at a cost of $186 million. The multi-purpose facility was intended to increase the city's convention traffic and attract a professional football franchise. It also placated the San Antonio Spurs' demands for a larger arena. The Spurs played in the Alamodome for a decade, then became disenchanted with the facility and convinced Bexar County to construct a new arena for them, now called the AT&T Center. The Jacksonville Sharks are a professional indoor football team based in Jacksonville, Florida, playing their home games at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Beginning in 2017, the Sharks began play as charter members of the National Arena League (NAL). The San Antonio Talons were a professional arena football team based in San Antonio, Texas. They played in the Arena Football League (AFL). Their home arena was the Alamodome, following their relocation to San Antonio for the 2012 Arena Football League season, 2012 season.
