Ivan Ladislav Galeta
Ivan Ladislav Galeta (9 May 1947 – 7 January 2014) was a Croatian multimedia artist, cinematographer and film director. Biography Galeta lived in Kraj Gornji, where he performed his Endart projects, and worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He graduated from Zagreb's School of Applied Arts and Design (Department of Applied Graphics) (1967), at the teacher training college in Zagreb (1969), and at the studies of pedagogy sciences at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb (1981). In the last few years he created pieces of internet art. A year or annus is the orbital period of a planetary body, for example, the Earth, moving in its orbit around the Sun. Ana Karić
Ana Karić (; 13 May 1941 – 9 October 2014) was a Croatian actress. She started acting in the early 1960s even before graduating from the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art in 1963. Although primarily a television actress, she also appeared in numerous film and theatre productions. Karić starred in a number of notable films produced in Croatia and directed by Croatian directors such as Ante Babaja, Nikola Tanhofer, Zvonimir Berković and Krsto Papić. She won a Golden Arena for Best Actress in 2012 for a starring role in ''Night Boats'', a romantic drama film directed by Igor Mirković. Karić died on 9 October 2014 in Zagreb, aged 73. Boris Buzančić
Boris Buzančić (13 March 1929 – 9 October 2014) was a Croatian actor and politician who served as the 47th Mayor of Zagreb between 1990 and 1993. A native of Bjelovar, Buzančić began acting very early. He appeared in numerous films and TV shows. His specialty was playing roles of men with authority, especially in dramatic films dealing with World War II. However, one of his most memorable roles is witty Split mayor Dotur Vice in popular TV series '' Velo misto''. By a twist of fate, Buzančić became a mayor in real life in 1990, following the first multi-party elections in Croatia, during which he supported Croatian Democratic Union. Ivan Ivančić
Ivan Ivančić (6 December 1937 – 28 August 2014) was a Croatian athletics coach and shot putter who represented Yugoslavia. He was the gold medalist in the 1975 Mediterranean Games, as well as a multiple national champion and record holder. As a coach, Ivančić specialized in the throwing events, and was best known for coaching Sandra Perković, an Olympic and two-time World discus throw champion. Biography Ivančić was born in 1937 in the village of Grabovica, Tomislavgrad in present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina. He finished elementary school and high school in Tuzla, and graduated from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education at the University of Belgrade. Vladimir Beara
Vladimir Beara (; 26 August 1928 – 11 August 2014) was a Yugoslav football goalkeeper and manager. He played the vast majority of his professional club career for Hajduk Split and Red Star Belgrade in the Yugoslav Federal League and for the Yugoslavia national football team. He is considered to have been one of the best goalkeepers of his era. Early life Beara was born into an ethnic Serb family to parents Jakov and Marija in the village of Zelovo Sutinsko near Sinj in present-day Croatia. He had two brothers named Ljubo and Sveto. According to Split-based journalist Zdravko Reić, Beara declared himself as a Croat in the state censuses. Miljenko Prohaska
Miljenko Prohaska (17 September 1925 – 29 May 2014) was a Croatian composer, arrangement, music arranger and Conducting, orchestra conductor. He was mainly known for founding a number of prominent Croatian orchestras and for his longtime service as the conductor of the Radio Zagreb Dance Orchestra (the present-day Croatian Radiotelevision Big Band Orchestra). Martin Špegelj
Martin Špegelj (11 November 1927 – 11 May 2014) was a Croatian army general and politician who served as the second defense minister of Croatia and, later, the chief of staff of the newborn Croatian army and inspector-general of the army. His efforts to organize and equip the army from scratch were seen as instrumental in helping Croatia survive the first year of the Croatian War of Independence. Partly owing to disagreements with president Franjo Tuđman, he retired in 1992, after the war froze with the permanent ceasefire at the end of 1991.
