The 2014 Gator Bowl was an American college football bowl game that was played on January 1, 2014, at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. The 69th edition of the Gator Bowl, it featured the Nebraska Cornhuskers from the Big Ten Conference against the Georgia Bulldogs from the Southeastern Conference. The game began at 12:00 noon EST and aired on ESPN2. It was one of the 2013–14 bowl games that concluded the 2013 FBS football season. The game was sponsored by tax preparation software company TaxSlayer.com and was officially known as the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl. Nebraska finished their season with a record of 8–4 (5–3 Big Ten), tied for second place in the Big Ten Legends Division. Georgia had a regular season record of 8–4 (5–3 SEC). 2009 Gator Bowl
The 2009 Gator Bowl was played on January 1, 2009, as part of the 2008 College Football season. It featured the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who finished tied for first in the Big 12 Conference's North Division with Missouri, and the Clemson Tigers, who finished fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference's Atlantic Division. Nebraska scored 16 unanswered points to beat Clemson after being down 21–10 in the third quarter. The Iowa–Nebraska football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Iowa Hawkeyes and Nebraska Cornhuskers. The rivalry is usually held on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Taylor Todd Martinez (born September 15, 1990) is a former American football quarterback. He played college football at Nebraska. High school career Martinez played his senior year of high school football at Centennial High School in Corona, California, where he was a teammate of Vontaze Burfict and Will Sutton. At Centennial he passed for over 3,000 yards, including 28 touchdowns with a 61 percent pass completion. Taylor also rushed for 750 yards with 12 touchdowns. The 2013 Capital One Bowl, the 67th edition of the game, was a post-season American college football bowl game, held on January 1, 2013 at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida as part of the 2012–13 NCAA Bowl season.
