2013 Capital One Bowl
The 2013 Capital One Bowl, the 67th edition of the game, was a post-season American college football bowl game, held on January 1, 2013 at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida as part of the 2012–13 NCAA Bowl season. The game, which was broadcast at 1:00 p.m. EST on ABC, featured the #7 ( BCS) Georgia Bulldogs from the Southeastern Conference versus the #16 ( BCS) Nebraska Cornhuskers from the Big Ten Conference. Entering the game both teams suffered a loss at their respective conference championship games. The Georgia Bulldogs, winners of the SEC Eastern Division, were ranked #3 in the BCS going into the game. They lost to #2 Alabama 32–28. Meanwhile, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, winners of the Big Ten Legends Division, were ranked #12 going into the game. They lost to unranked Wisconsin 70–31. Florida Citrus Bowl
Camping World Stadium is a stadium in Orlando, Florida, located in the West Lakes neighborhood of Downtown Orlando, west of new sports and entertainment facilities including the Amway Center, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and Exploria Stadium. Taylor Todd Martinez (born September 15, 1990) is a former American football quarterback. He played college football at Nebraska. High school career Martinez played his senior year of high school football at Centennial High School in Corona, California, where he was a teammate of Vontaze Burfict and Will Sutton. Marshall Morgan (born November 28, 1993) is an American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. He played college football for Georgia. Morgan has the school record for most completed extra points (215). Morgan is also 3rd in field goals completed (64), and 3rd in total points (407). Tom Osborne
Thomas William Osborne (born February 23, 1937) is a former American football player, coach, college athletics administrator, and politician from Nebraska. He served as head football coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1973 to 1997 (25 seasons). After being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999, Osborne was elected to Congress in 2000 from Nebraska's third district as a Republican. He served three terms (2001–2007), returned to the University of Nebraska as athletic director in 2007, and retired in 2013. Osborne played college football as a quarterback and wide receiver at Hastings College, and soon after finishing his brief NFL career he was hired by Nebraska head coach Bob Devaney as an assistant. 1969 Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Team
The 1969 Nebraska Cornhuskers football team represented the University of Nebraska in the 1969 NCAA University Division football season. The team was led by eighth-year head coach Bob Devaney and played their home games in Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. In his first year as offensive coordinator, Tom Osborne instituted the I formation. The Huskers lost the opener at home to fifth-ranked USC, and were 2–2 after a loss in the conference opener at #7 Missouri. They won their final six regular season games to tie for the Big Eight championship, were invited to the Sun Bowl in El Paso, and decisively beat the Georgia Bulldogs to finish the season at 9–2. Sun Bowl
The Sun Bowl is a college football bowl game that has been played since 1935 in the southwestern United States at El Paso, Texas. Along with the Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl, it is the second-oldest bowl game in the country, behind the Rose Bowl. Usually held near the end of December, games are played at the Sun Bowl stadium on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso. 2012 Big Ten Football Championship Game
The 2012 Big Ten Football Championship Game was a college football game. It was played on December 1, 2012, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, to determine the 2012 champion of the Big Ten Conference. It was played between the Wisconsin Badgers of the Leaders Division and the Nebraska Cornhuskers of the Legends Division. Wisconsin defeated Nebraska, 70–31.
