2014 EuroHockey Club Champions Cup (women)
The 2014 EuroHockey Club Champions Cup is the 42nd edition of the premier European competition for women's field hockey clubs. It will be played in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands between 18 April and 21 April 2014. There will not be a round-robin. The eight teams will be placed in the bracket starting from the quarter-finals. Winning teams will advance to the semi-finals and losing teams will play placement matches. Host team HC Den Bosch was the defending champion. Dutch teams dominated the tournament. In the final Amsterdam H&BC met the hosts. Normal time ended 2 – 2 and the winner was decided in a shoot-out. Amsterdam H&BC won 3 – 0. Uhlenhorster HC took third place by defeating Real Sociedad in the bronze match 1 – 1 (4 – 2) p. 's-Hertogenbosch
s-Hertogenbosch (), colloquially known as Den Bosch (), is a city and municipality in the Netherlands with a population of 157,486. It is the capital of the province of North Brabant and its fourth largest by population. Ellen Hoog
Ellen Marijn Hoog (, born 26 March 1986) is a former Dutch field hockey player, who is regarded as one of the best Dutch hockey players of her generation. Field hockey career Ellen began playing field hockey at the age of seven and in 2002, aged 16 she was selected to play her first senior game for Stichtse Cricket en Hockey Club in Bilthoven and made her debut for the Netherlands women's national field hockey team at age 17 in 2004 and has played in 232 matches, scoring 60 goals. She won Olympic gold medals in 2008 and 2012 and a silver medal in 2016. In August 2005, she became European champion in Dublin. Maartje Krekelaar (born 6 July 1995) is a Dutch field hockey player. Maartje Krekelaar (Veghel, July 6, 1995) is a Dutch hockey player. To date, Krekelaar played 43 international matches (11 goals) for the national women's team (reference date 1 August 2019) She won with Hockey Club 's-Hertogenbosch six times the national title in the period 2011-2019 (in 2013 and 2019 silver). Vera Vorstenbosch (born 10 April 1987) is a former field hockey player from the Netherlands, who played as a forward. Personal life Vera Vorstenbosch was born and raised in Engelen, North Brabant. Career Club hockey Vorstenbosch was introduced to hockey at age five, playing for Vlijmense. Throughout her senior career, Vorstenbosch played her club hockey at Den Bosch. Kate Louise Richardson-Walsh, (''née'' Walsh; born 9 May 1980) is an Olympic Gold and Bronze Medal winning English field hockey player. She was capped a record 375 times for her country and was the England and Great Britain Captain for 13 years.
