2014 Detroit Thunder Season
The 2014 Detroit Thunder season is the second season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. In June 2013, the Thunder agreed to terms with the CIFL to return for the 2014 season. The team was originally supposed to play the season at Fraser Hockeyland but was unable to secure turf for the arena, forcing the team to move to the Perani Arena and Event Center in Flint, Michigan for the only home game the Thunder would play that season. Perani Arena And Event Center
The Dort Financial Center (originally IMA Sports Arena and formerly Perani Arena and Event Center) is a sports, entertainment and convention venue located in Flint, Michigan, United States. It opened in 1969 and is the home of the Flint Firebirds who play in the Ontario Hockey League. 2014 Saginaw Sting Season
The 2014 Saginaw Sting season was the sixth season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. In June 2013, the Sting agreed to terms with the CIFL to return for the 2014 season. The Sting won their first eighth game of the season to advance to 8-0, but during that game the Sting lost quarterback A. J. McKenna to injury. The following week the team lost 2013 league MVP, C. J. Tarver to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The loss of those two key players became noticeable when the Sting lost their final regular season game to finish 9-1. The 2014 Continental Indoor Football League season was the Continental Indoor Football League's ninth overall season. The regular season started on Monday February 3, with the Northern Kentucky River Monsters visiting the Bluegrass Warhorses at the Kentucky Horse Park, Alltech Arena, and ended with the 2014 CIFL Championship Game, the league's championship game held on May 18. The Erie Explosion successfully defended their championship from the previous year with a win over the Marion Blue Racers in the championship. The Port Huron Pirates were a professional indoor American football, indoor football team based in Port Huron, Michigan. Erie Insurance Arena (originally known as Erie Civic Center and later, Louis J. Tullio Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the downtown area of Erie, Pennsylvania. 2014 Marion Blue Racers Season
The 2014 Marion Blue Racers season was the fourth season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. In May 2013, the Blue Racers announced that they were leaving the CIFL again, this time to join the Xtreme Indoor Football League. The league was supposed to be run by Blue Racers owner LaMonte Coleman. However, in August 2013, the Blue Racers re-signed with the CIFL to a multi-year contract. Coleman has hired Marc Huddleston as the 2014 Head Coach and Director of Football Operations. After a 5–1 start, the Blue Racers announced that Coleman would be taking over as the team's head coach. The Bluegrass Warhorses were a professional indoor American football team based in Lexington, Kentucky. The team joined the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) in 2014 as an expansion team. The 2014 Erie Explosion season is the eighth season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. In June 2013, the Explosion agreed to terms with the CIFL to return for the 2014 season. The Explosion earned an 8–2 record during the 2014 regular season and won their second consecutive CIFL championship. It would be the league's last championship; the CIFL dissolved after the 2014 season. The Explosion will continue. Dow Event Center
The Dow Event Center (formerly known as Saginaw County Event Center and Saginaw Civic Center) is an indoor arena located in Saginaw, Michigan. The center consists of several parts: The Atrium, The Garden Room, The Theater, The Red Room, Huntington Event Park, and The Arena. It currently houses the Ontario Hockey League's Saginaw Spirit. The facility has housed a number of hockey teams in the past, such as the Saginaw Lumber Kings and both the IHL and UHL incarnations of the Saginaw Gears. Hara Arena was a 5,500-seat multi-purpose arena located in the Trotwood, Ohio suburb of Dayton.
