2014 Campeonato Cearense
The 2014 Campeonato Cearense de Futebol was the 100th season of top professional Campeonato Cearense, football league in the state of Ceará, Brazil. The competition began on January 5 and ended on April 23. Ceará Sporting Club, Ceará won the championship for the 43rd time and 4th since 2011, while Ferroviário Atlético Clube (CE), Ferroviário, Associação Esportiva Tiradentes, Tiradentes and Crato Esporte Clube, Crato were relegated. Format The championship has three stages. On the first stage, all teams excluding those who are playing in 2014 Copa do Nordeste play a double Round-robin tournament, round robin. The best four teams qualifies to the second stage. On the second stage, the teams are joined by the clubs from Ceará who were playing on Copa Nordeste. The Campeonato Cearense is the football league of the state of Ceará, Brazil. Format The Campeonato Cearense has three divisions with the following division and format (as in any other Brazilian soccer championship, the format can change every year): First Division The ten clubs play two legs. In each leg there are three stages: *First stage: All teams play each other one time. *Second stage: Two-legged knockout with the top 4 teams of the first stage (1st x 4th and 2nd x 3rd). *Third stage: Two-legged knockout with the second stage winners. The winners of the third stage are leg champions. The two leg champions decide the state championship final in two games. If a team wins the two legs is a state champion with no championship final necessary. The two teams last placed in all championship are relegated. 2015 Copa Do Nordeste
The 2015 Copa do Nordeste was the 12th edition of the main football tournament featuring teams from the Brazilian Northeast Region. The competition featured 20 clubs, with Bahia and Pernambuco having three seeds each, and Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Sergipe, Alagoas, Paraíba, Maranhão and Piauí with two seeds each. For the first time, the competition included teams from Maranhão and Piauí. Sobral, Ceará
Sobral is a municipality in the state of Ceará, Brazil. Sobral is the fifth largest municipality of Ceará, after Fortaleza. Juazeiro Do Norte
Juazeiro do Norte is a city in the state of Ceará state in northeastern Brazil. It is located 491 km south of the state capital Fortaleza in the semiarid sertão. The municipality has a population of 276,264 (2020 official estimate) and covers 248 km². Juazeiro do Norte is best known as the base of the charismatic priest and politician Padre Cícero (Cícero Romão Batista) (1844-1934). Crato, Ceará
Crato is a city of 130,000 inhabitants on the banks of the river Granjeiro in the south of the state of Ceará, in the northeast of Brazil. It was founded on June 21, 1764 by the Capuchin friar Carlos Maria de Ferrara. Originally it was a small village in which the population were principally native Kariris, it gained official status as a city on October 17, 1817. The Brazilian city of Crato was named in honor to Crato, a Portuguese town which was founded in the 13th century.
