2014 CS Skate Canada Autumn Classic
The 2014 Skate Canada Autumn Classic was a senior international figure skating competition in the 2014–15 season. A part of the 2014–15 ISU Challenger Series, the inaugural edition of the annual event was held on 15–16 October 2014 in Barrie, Canada. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. History The ISU Council decided to create the series at its February 2014 meeting. Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. The Triglav Trophy dropped out by October 10, 2014, resulting in a series composed of ten events. Short Program (figure Skating)
The short program of figure skating is the first of two segments of competitions, skated before the free skating program. It lasts, for both senior and junior singles and pair skaters, 2 minutes and 40 seconds. In synchronized skating, for both juniors and seniors, the short program lasts 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Vocal music with lyrics is allowed for all disciplines since the 2014-2015 season. The short program for single skaters and for pair skaters consists of seven required elements, and there are six required elements for synchronized skaters. Overview The short program, along with the free skating program, is a segment of single skating, pair skating, and synchronized skating in international competitions and events for both junior and senior-level skaters. Bela Papp
Bela Papp (born 9 March 1994) is a Finnish figure skater. He is the 2011 Finnish national champion. Selected to compete at four consecutive World Junior Championships, he qualified twice for the free skate. Papp also competed at various different Junior Grand Prix events as well as represented Finland at two consecutive University Games (Universiade). Papp has won the Finnish title in all of the categories and was the youngest man to win the Senior title at the age of 16. Personal life Bela Papp was born on 9 March 1994 in Kuopio, Finland. His mother, Ulla, is a figure skating coach, and his siblings— Beata, Bettina, Benjam—have all competed in the sport. Brendan Kerry
Brendan Kerry (born 18 November 1994) is an Australian figure skater. He is the 2017 CS Ondrej Nepela Trophy bronze medalist, the 2017 CS Lombardia Trophy bronze medalist, the 2019 Toruń Cup champion, the 2016 Egna Spring Trophy champion, and an eight-time Australian national champion (2011, 2013–2019). Kerry has competed in the final segment at fifteen ISU Championships, achieving his highest placement, sixth, at the 2022 Four Continents. Christopher Berneck
Christopher Berneck (born 10 July 1992) is a German figure skater. He won four senior international medals and became a two-time German national bronze medalist (2011, 2015). Personal life Berneck was born on 10 July 1992 in Bad Säckingen, Germany. In 2015, he began studying fashion communication at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Andrei Rogozine (russian: Андрей Рогозин; born 29 January 1993) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2011 World Junior champion, 2010 JGP Final bronze medallist, and 2013 Canadian national bronze medallist. Personal life Andrei Rogozine was born January 29, 1993, in Moscow, Russia. His family moved to Canada when he was five. He attended Richmond Green Secondary School in Richmond Hill, Ontario. He moved to Newmarket, Ontario, in 2011 and now lives in Ottawa. Alexander M. Johnson (born May 15, 1990) is a former competitive American figure skater. He is the 2017 CS Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist, 2013 International Challenge Cup silver medalist, and 2008 JGP Czech Republic champion. Denis Margalik (born June 3, 1997) is an Argentine former figure skater. He became the first skater representing Argentina to win a medal on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series, obtaining bronze at JGP Bratislava in 2015. Kevin Reynolds (born July 23, 1990) is a retired Canadian figure skater. He is the 2013 Four Continents champion, 2010 Four Continents bronze medallist, 2014 Winter Olympics team silver medallist and a six-time Canadian national medallist (2012–14, 2017 silver; 2010, 2016 bronze). Ronald Lam
Chiu Ting Ronald Lam (born February 13, 1991) is a retired Hong Kong figure skater. He won three senior international medals and three national titles. He competed in the final segment at three ISU Championships, placing 20th at the 2010 World Junior Championships in The Hague, Netherlands; 13th at the 2015 Four Continents Championships in Seoul, South Korea; and 14th at the 2015 World Championships in Shanghai, China. Lam represented Canada before switching to Hong Kong in 2012. In May 2015, Lam graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. Timothy "Tim" Dolensky (born July 18, 1992) is an American former figure skater. He is the 2012 U.S. junior silver medalist and placed 12th at the 2012 World Junior Championships. Early life and education Timothy Dolensky was born July 18, 1992, in Birmingham, Alabama. He studied at Kennesaw State University, majoring in exercise and health science.
