2013–14 Persian Gulf Cup
The 2013–14 Persian Gulf Cup (also known as Iran Pro League) was the 31st season of Persian Gulf Pro League, Iran's Football League and 13th as Persian Gulf Pro League, Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Esteghlal F.C., Esteghlal were the 2012–13 Persian Gulf Cup, defending champions. The season featured 14 teams from the 2012–13 Persian Gulf Cup and two new teams promoted from the 2012–13 Azadegan League: Esteghlal Khuzestan F.C., Esteghlal Khuzestan and Gostaresh Foulad F.C., Gostaresh both as champions. The league started on 24 July 2013 and ended on 11 April 2014. Foolad F.C., Foolad won the Pro League title for the second time in their history (total second Iranian title). Tractor S.C., Tractor Sazi's Karim Ansarifard's was the top scorer with 14 goals. Foolad Khuzestan Football Club (, ''Bāshgāh-e Futbāl-e Fulād-e Khuzestān'') is an Iranian professional Football (soccer), football club based in Ahvaz, Khuzestan, that plays in Persian Gulf Pro League. The club was founded in 1971 and is owned by Foolad Khuzestan Company. The club has won Iran Pro League twice, including a championship in the lower division, Azadegan League. In the 2004–05 Iran Pro League, 2004–05 season, Foolad became the champion of the fourth newly founded Iran Pro League (IPL), gaining a total of 64 points over 30 league matches. Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan Sport Club (, ''Bâšgâh-e Farhangi-Varzeši-ye Fulâd-e Mobârake-ye Sepâhân''), commonly known as Sepahan, is an Iranian sports club based in Isfahan. The 2012–13 Azadegan League was the 22nd season of the Azadegan League and 12th as the second highest division since its establishment in 1991. The season featured 19 teams from the 2011–12 Azadegan League, three new teams relegated from the 2011–12 Persian Gulf Cup ( Shahin Bushehr, Shahrdari Tabriz and Mes Sarcheshmeh) and four new teams promoted from the 2011–12 2nd Division ( Esteghlal Ahvaz as champions, Gostaresh Foulad and Hafari Ahvaz). The Persian Gulf Pro League (, ''Lig-e Bartar-e Xalij-e Fârs''), formerly known as the Iran Premier League (, ''Lig-e bartar-e Irân''), is a professional association football league in Iran and the highest level of the Iranian football league system. It is controlled by the FFIRI and is contested by 16 teams over a 30-matchday period.
