2012–13 Persian Gulf Cup
The 2012–13 Persian Gulf Cup (also known as Iran Pro League) was the 30th season of Persian Gulf Pro League, Iran's Football League and 12th as Persian Gulf Pro League, Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Sepahan F.C., Sepahan were the 2011–12 Persian Gulf Cup, defending champions. The season featured 15 teams from the 2011–12 Persian Gulf Cup and three new teams promoted from the 2011–12 Azadegan League: Paykan F.C., Paykan as champions, Aluminium Hormozgan F.C., Aluminium Hormozgan and Gahar Zagros F.C., Gahar Zagros. The league started on 19 July 2012 and ended on 10 May 2013. Esteghlal F.C., Esteghlal won the Pro League title for the third time in their history (total eighth Iranian title). Mehdi Rahmati
Seyed Mehdi Rahmati Oskuei (; born February 3, 1983) is an Iranian football coach and former player who currently manages Shams Azar F.C. in the Persian Gulf Pro League. He played for the Iran national team between 2004 and 2013. Club career Early career Rahmati started his professional career with Fajr Sepasi in 2000, he stayed for four years at the club and made 40 appearances before transferring to Sepahan. After only one season with Sepahan, Rahmati again transferred, this time to Esteghlal. Although he had good performance in the Esteghlal squad, Vahid Talebloo had better performances and he proved himself as the number one keeper for Esteghlal Rahmati again left this time to Mes Kerman where he played very well. Mes Kerman Football Club (, ''Bashgah-e Futbal-e Sân't-e Mes Kârman'') is an Iranian professional football team based in Kerman, Iran. The 2012–13 Azadegan League was the 22nd season of the Azadegan League and 12th as the second highest division since its establishment in 1991. The season featured 19 teams from the 2011–12 Azadegan League, three new teams relegated from the 2011–12 Persian Gulf Cup ( Shahin Bushehr, Shahrdari Tabriz and Mes Sarcheshmeh) and four new teams promoted from the 2011–12 2nd Division ( Esteghlal Ahvaz as champions, Gostaresh Foulad and Hafari Ahvaz). Azadegan League
The Azadegan League (, ''Lig-e Âzâdegân''), also known as League 1 (, ''Lig-e Yek''), is the second highest division of professional football in Iran. It was the top-level football league in Iran from its foundation in 1991 until 2001, when the Persian Gulf Pro League was established. Azadegan League operates on a system of promotion and relegation. Each year, the top finishing teams in the Azadegan League are promoted to the Persian Gulf Pro League, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to League 2 (Iran), League 2. Since 2016, the league comprises 18 teams. The winner and the runner-up of the Azadegan League are automatically promoted to the Persian Gulf Pro League. The Persian Gulf Pro League (, ''Lig-e Bartar-e Xalij-e Fârs''), formerly known as the Iran Premier League (, ''Lig-e bartar-e Irân''), is a professional association football league in Iran and the highest level of the Iranian football league system. It is controlled by the FFIRI and is contested by 16 teams over a 30-matchday period.
