2013–14 MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship
The 2013–2014 MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship was the second running of the MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship. The series consisted of 13 races, spread across 4 meetings began on 26 October 2013 at the Buddh International Circuit, supporting the 2013 Indian Grand Prix and ended on 16 February 2014. Rupert Svendsen-Cook claimed the championship title, after successfully appealing a penalty that was given to him, at the final round of the season at the Madras Motor Racing Track. Svendsen-Cook had been given a 30-second penalty for pushing Tio Ellinas off the track, which had allowed Ellinas to provisionally claim the championship title. This penalty was overturned in March, allowing Svendsen-Cook's advantage of two points to stand. MRF Challenge is an open-wheel motorsport formula In science, a formula is a concise way of expressing information symbolically, as in a mathematical formula or a ''chemical formula''. The informal use of the term ''formula'' in science refers to the general construct of a relationship betwe ... based in India organized by Madras Motor Sports Club. This was India's first and only FIA approved and inscribed international series. The cars were developed and manufactured by Coimbatore based J A Motorsport. This was promoted as a Winter series where young and upcoming racing drivers could get valuable seat and track time during the off-season months in competitive tracks in Asia. This was supported by MRF Ltd in its entirety and was a unique concept of "Arrive and Drive" which meant that the drivers would not have the hassle of making all arrangements. Sean Walkinshaw
Sean Nathan Thomas Walkinshaw (born 3 November 1993) is a British racing driver who currently competes in the Super Taikyu Series for Hitotsuyama Racing. He is the son of former Formula 1 team principal Tom Walkinshaw. Career Super GT Walkinshaw made his debut in Super GT in 2017 with Autobacs Racing Team Aguri alongside Shinichi Takagi. They clinched 4th in the standings with a win. They continued to race in the next season, finishing runners up with two wins, losing out to LEON Racing of Naoya Gamou, and Haruki Kurosawa. With ARTA changing their car to Honda NSX GT3, Walkinshaw got replaced by Honda Junior Nirei Fukuzumi. In 2019, Walkinshaw moved to Team Thailand to race alongside Nattapong Horthongkum. Walkinshaw returned to the team, for the last three rounds of the 2020 season alongside Mathias Beche. Madras Motor Sports Club is an Indian auto racing club founded in 1952 and based in Chennai, India. Madras Motor Sports Club with its history of over 50 years is the reason that Chennai can be called the epicentre of motor racing in India. Madras Motor Sports Club, located at the village of Irungattukottai near Sriperumbudur, Chennai organises world class racing events every year, including the South India Rally and the All India Motor Race Meet.
