2013–14 East Of Scotland Football League
The 2013–14 East of Scotland Football League was the 85th season of the East of Scotland Football League. Whitehill Welfare were the reigning champions, but not defend their title after moving to the Lowland League. The league was split into two separate divisions, the Premier Division and the First Division. This season saw a reduction in the number of clubs from 26 to 20, due to the departure of nine clubs who left to join the inaugural Lowland Football League, although additional reserve teams joined the league to boost numbers. Premier Division The 2013–14 Premier Division saw a reduction in the number of clubs from twelve to ten, due to the departure of seven clubs to the newly-formed Lowland Football League. As a result, Edinburgh University and Tynecastle retained their place in the division despite finishing in the previous season's relegation places. The East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) is a senior association football, football league based in the east and south-east of Scotland. The league sits at levels 6–9 on the Scottish football league system, acting as a feeder to the Lowland Football League. Founded in 1923, it is currently composed of 59 member clubs competing in four divisions. Traditionally clubs were located in Edinburgh, Lothians and the Scottish Borders however in the 2010s the league expanded north and now also includes clubs from Clackmannanshire, Falkirk (council area), Falkirk, Fife, Stirling (council area), Stirling, and Perth, Scotland, Perth. Easthouses Lily Miners Welfare F
Easthouses is a settlement in Midlothian, Scotland, lying to the east of Newtongrange and south of Dalkeith. It forms the northern extension of the settlement of Mayfield, with which it is closely associated; the two communities have a combined population of around 7,900. Primarily based on public housing, Easthouses developed in the 1920s to accommodate miners for the nearby Easthouses Colliery, many of whom relocated from the west of Scotland. The settlement was significantly extended in the 1950s. Employment has diversified since the closure of local mines, with many of the population now commuting to Edinburgh. The Easthouses Parish Church (built 1954) is of minor architectural interest. 2014–15 Lowland Football League
The 2014–15 Lowland League was the second season of the Lowland Football League, the fifth tier of the Scottish football pyramid system. The season began on 2 August 2014 and ended on 13 May 2015. The Spartans were the defending champions. The league expanded to 14 teams with Edinburgh University and BSC Glasgow joining. This was the first season in which promotion to Scottish League Two was introduced, with the champions taking part in the pyramid play-off against the Highland League champions and the winner then playing the bottom side in League Two. Edinburgh City won their first league title on 20 March 2015 after nearest rivals Whitehill Welfare lost at East Kilbride.
