The 2013–14 Belgian Basketball Cup or The Base Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 60th season of the annual cup tournament in Belgium. Telenet BC Oostende was the defending champion. The Final Four was held from 19 till 21 April in Paleis 12 in Brussels. It was the first time since 2003 the Belgian Basketbal Cup included a Final Four. Telenet BC Oostende defeated Port of Antwerp Giants 88–79 to win its 14th cup in franchise history. Dušan Djordjević of Oostende was named Final Four MVP. Kangoeroes Basket Willebroek
Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen, also known as Kangoeroes or Kangoeroes Mechelen, is a basketball club based in Mechelen, Belgium. Founded in 2009, the club plays in the BNXT League. Kangoeroes have been playing in the top tier division in Belgium for years, since 2013. Previously, the team played in Boom and Willebroek. In 2018, the club moved to Mechelen. History The club was founded in 2009, as a result of a merger between BBC Kangoeroes Willebroek and Boom BBC. The team name was BBC Kangoeroes Boom, but in summer 2013 the team was renamed Kangoeroes Basket Willebroek. In the 2013–14 season, Kangoeroes entered the professional first tier Ethias League. Dayon Demond Mallet (born February 22, 1978) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played college basketball at McNeese State University. Mallet spent 17 seasons as a professional player, in multiple European leagues afterwards, and won multiple championships and was named the Most Valuable Player of several competitions. Mallet won a German League championship, and the German Cup title. He also won the ULEB Cup championship (which is now called the EuroCup), and he won the prestigious Spanish King's Cup title, with the team Joventut Badalona.
