2013–14 Bay Area Rosal Season
The 2013–14 Bay Area Rosal season was the first season in the Professional Arena Soccer League for the Bay Area Rosal professional indoor soccer club. The Rosal, a Pacific Division team, played their home games at Cabernet Indoor Sports in Livermore, California. Bay Area Rosal was led by owner Chris Rockenbaugh and head coach Luis Orellana. Mario Astorga was the team's head coach for its first 8 games of the season before leaving the team in late December. Season summary Bay Area Rosal began its inaugural campaign with a pre-season match against the Turlock Express on October 26. The Rosal lost 6–7. They lost their first PASL regular season match 7–12 to the Las Vegas Legends and lost again to Turlock before winning 5 of their next 7 matches to close out 2013. 2014, however, started with 4 consecutive losses and the team ultimately finished the season with a 5–11 record. 2013–14 Professional Arena Soccer League Season
The 2013–14 Professional Arena Soccer League season was the sixth season for the PASL, an American professional indoor soccer league. The regular season started on November 1, 2013 and ended on February 16, 2014. After regional playoffs in late February, the three regional winners and host Chicago Mustangs competed at the Sears Centre for the Ron Newman Cup on March 15–16, 2014. The Mustangs capped a perfect season by winning the league championship. Teams Returning clubs In advance of news from the league's 2013 summer meetings, the exact size and composition of the PASL for the 2013–14 season was unclear. Reigning champion San Diego Sockers and league attendance leader Dallas Sidekicks were sure to return. The Empire Strykers are an American professional indoor soccer team based in Ontario, California. Founded in 2013, the team made its debut in the Professional Arena Soccer League at the start of the 2013–14 season. The team plays its home games at the Toyota Arena under the leadership of general manager, head coach, Jimmy Nordberg. As of May 2014, the league is known as the Major Arena Soccer League. Turlock is a city in Stanislaus County, California, United States. Its estimated 2019 population of 73,631 made it the second-largest city in Stanislaus County after Modesto. History Founded on December 22, 1871, by prominent grain farmer John William Mitchell, the town consisted of a post office, a depot, a grain warehouse and a few other buildings. Las Positas College (LPC) is a public community college in Livermore, California. History Las Positas College began as an extension program of Chabot College in 1963, offering 24 classes and enrolling 810 students at three sites, including Livermore High School. By 1965, the program had expanded to Granada High School in Livermore and subsequently offered classes at Amador and Dublin High Schools as well. The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District purchased the Livermore site that same year, intending to develop a comprehensive community college. However, in 1970 and again in 1972, bond issues to build the rural college failed despite Tri-Valley voters' overwhelming support, ostensibly because of opposition among the District's largest voting population, who lived outside the service area for the proposed college.
