The Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division, currently known as the Digicel/Red Stripe Premier Division for sponsorship purposes, is the top football league in Antigua and Barbuda excludes Antigua Barracuda. History It was created in 1968 and is headed by the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association. 10 teams participate in this league. The winner of the league qualifies for the following year's CFU Club Championship. The 9th and 10th placed teams are relegated to the Antigua and Barbuda First Division. The championship is usually played between September and March. The 2014–15 Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division will be the 44th season of the Antigua and Barbuda top-flight football league. The league consists of 10 clubs that play 18 matches with a two-match series against each other club. Teams The league will be contested by 10 teams, including Ottos Rangers, Urlings Golden Stars and Five Islands, all of which were promoted from the 2013–14 Division 1. Willikies, All Saints United and Potters Tigers were each relegated. All games are played at Antigua Recreation Ground in St. John's. The stadium has a capacity of 9,000. SAP FC
The SAP Football Club is an Antiguan football team playing in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division. It is based in Bolans. SAP stands for Spirit, Attitude & Performance. History SAP Football Club originated in 1979 in Bolans Village by a group of friends who were often considered outcast by the villagers. As of such, the guys did everything together; ate, prayed, smoke, attended school, worked and played football together. A customary practice for the fellas was cooking and naming their dishes. These names range from, Yham Till You Drop, Bun Up Joe, Belly Full, Bun Bottom etc. However, they frequently cooked a meal called Sappy Rice. So when the guys decided to form a football team in 1977 to play in the Bolans Community League they called their team Sappy, a derivation from the dish Sappy Rice. In 1979 they joined ABFA League and renamed the team SAP and became the first club from the south side of Antigua to become a member of the Antigua & Barbuda Football Association ...
