2013 Zamboanga City Local Elections
Local elections were held in Zamboanga City on May 13, 2013, within the Philippine general election. The voters elected for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, and eight councilors per district. Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar
Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar (born September 7, 1966), also known as Beng Climaco, is a Filipina politician, and former mayor of Zamboanga City in Mindanao, Philippines. Prior to this she was councilor of the city's 1st district for two terms, and its vice mayor. She is the second woman to become a mayor of Zamboanga City. She unsuccessfully sought for a seat representing the 1st District of Zamboanga City in the 2022 Philippine general election. Early life and family Beng Climaco is the daughter of former Vice Mayor Jose Climaco and the niece of Mayor Cesar Climaco. Team PNoy, formerly known as the LP–Akbayan–NPC–NP–LDP Coalition, was a political umbrella coalition in the Philippines, originally formed to support the administration-backed senatorial line-up for the 2013 Philippine Senate election. Elections were held in Zamboanga Peninsula for seats in the House of Representatives of the Philippines on May 13, 2013. The candidate with the most votes won that district's seat for the 16th Congress of the Philippines. In Isabela, Basilan, although a part of this region, the voters elect their representative via Basilan's legislative district. Isabela is politically within Basilan despite being in a separate regions. A percentage point or percent point is the unit (measurement), unit for the Difference (mathematics), arithmetic difference between two percentages. An electoral swing analysis (or swing) shows the extent of change in voter support, typically from one election to another, expressed as a positive or negative percentage. Sangguniang Kabataan
Sangguniang Kabataan (abbreviated as SK; ) is a council meant to represent the youth in each barangay in the Philippines. It was put "on hold", but not quite abolished, prior to the 2013 barangay elections. In January 2016, the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act was signed into law which made some significant changes to the SK and initially scheduled new elections for October 2016. In March 2017, the elections were postponed anew to May 2018. The SK Chairman leads the Sangguniang Kabataan. A Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) composed of representatives of different local youth groups supports the SK and its programs. The Sangguniang Kabataan is the successor of the Kabataang Barangay (KB; ) which was abolished by the Local Government Code of 1991. The Zamboanga City Council (Chavacano: ''Consejo de la Ciudad de Zamboanga'') is Zamboanga City's Sangguniang Panlungsod or local legislature. Currently composed of 19 members, with 16 councilors elected from Zamboanga City's two legislative districts and three (3) ''ex-officio'' members composed of the: (1) President of the ''Liga ng mga Barangay ng Lungsod ng Zamboanga'' (English: League of Barangays of the City of Zamboanga); (2) the ''President of the Pederasyon ng Sangguniang Kabataan'' (English: Federation of Youth Councils); and (3) the Mandatory Representative of the indigenous peoples in Zamboanga City.
