Khashbaataryn Tsagaanbaatar
Khashbaataryn Tsagaanbaatar ( mn, Хашбаатарын Цагаанбаатар) is the single medal winner from Mongolia at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He won a bronze medal in judo. He became the first Mongolian to win the gold medal at the World Judo Championships in Rotterdam in 2009. Tsagaanbaatar is also the older brother of LSU quarterback Naimanzuunnadintsetseg Tsagaanbaatar. He also took gold medal in the 2006 Asian Games. Recently he also won a gold medal at the 2007 New York Open in the under-66 kg weight division. He won with a traditional technique, the kata guruma is one of the traditional forty throws of judo as developed by Kano Jigoro. World Sambo Championships
The World Sambo Championships are the main championships in Sambo and Combat Sambo, organized by the Fédération Internationale de Sambo (FIAS). History The first World Sambo Cup took place in 1977 in Oviedo, Spain. Two years later, the first Youth World Championships were held in Madrid, Spain. In 1984, an assembly of the Fédération Internationale des Luttes Associées (FILA), now known as the United World Wrestling, chose to create an independent federation for sambo, the Fédération Internationale de Sambo (FIAS). On 13 June 1984, a constitutive General Assembly of the FIAS was held in Madrid, in which delegates from 56 countries took part. Fernando Compte was elected the first president of FIAS. Maryna Pryshchepa (Ukrainian: Марина Прищепа; born 28 July 1983) is a Ukrainian judoka. Career She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics (Beijing) in the -78 kg event and lost her opening match to Heide Wollert. Four years later in London, she participated in the -78 kg tournament of the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated in her first match by Audrey Tcheuméo of France. Pryshchepa won a silver medal at the 2009 World Judo Championships. She also has a silver medal (2009) and four bronze medals (2006, 2007, 2010, 2012) at the European Judo Championships. Alice Schlesinger ( he, אליס שלזינגר; born May 26, 1988) is an Israeli-British retired judoka and sambo competitor. Born in Israel, she competed for that country until 2014, but following a dispute with the national federation she has started competing for Great Britain, of whom she is a citizen through her English-born mother.
