2013 Players Championship
The 2013 Players Championship was a golf tournament in Florida on the PGA Tour, held at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, southeast of Jacksonville. It was the 40th Players Championship. Tiger Woods won his second Players Championship, two strokes ahead of runners-up David Lingmerth, Jeff Maggert, and Kevin Streelman. Woods previously won twelve years earlier in 2001, after winning the previous three majors and the next for his ''Tiger Slam''. Defending champion Matt Kuchar finished thirteen strokes back at even par, tied for 48th place. 2013 PGA Tour
The 2013 PGA Tour was the 98th season of the U.S.-based golf tour, and the 46th since separating from the PGA of America. The season began on January 4, 2013. The season ran from January to September, the shorter-than-usual schedule aiding in the transition from the long-running January–December schedule to the new wraparound October–September schedule. It was the last season to be held entirely in one calendar year; the 2013–14 season would begin in October 2013. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2013 season. Brian Gay
Joseph Brian Gay (born December 14, 1971) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. Early years A military brat, Gay was born in Fort Worth, Texas, but was raised primarily at Fort Rucker, Alabama, where his father was a U.S. Army non-commissioned officer involved in flight operations. His father was also a member of the All-Army golf team in his spare time. As an only child, Gay spent much of his youth at the Fort Rucker golf course, first at the practice area, then on the course. Sergio García Fernández (; born 9 January 1980) is a Spanish professional golfer. He has played on the European Tour, PGA Tour and LIV Golf Invitational Series. García has won 36 international tournaments as a professional, most notably the 2008 Players Championship and the 2017 Masters Tournament. Tommy Gainey
Tommy Dale Gainey (born August 13, 1975), also known as "Two Gloves", is an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour. Early life and education Gainey was born in Darlington, South Carolina. He attended the Central Carolina Technical College, studying industrial maintenance, and graduated in 1999. Before becoming a professional golfer, he worked on an assembly line in South Carolina, wrapping insulation around hot water heaters for A.O. Smith Corporation. Professional career Early career Gainey turned professional in 1997, and for the next several years played golf on smaller tours in the southern United States. Derek Ernst (born May 16, 1990) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He earned his first PGA Tour victory at the 2013 Wells Fargo Championship. Early life and amateur career Ernst was born in Woodland, California to Mark and Dawn Ernst. Scott Brown (born May 22, 1983) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Brown attended the University of South Carolina Aiken, playing at Division II level collegiate golf. He turned professional in 2006, and begun playing mini-tours. He played on the NGA Hooters Tour from 2007 to 2009 and finished on top of the eGolf Professional Tour money list in 2009, with three wins. Jonas Blixt (born 24 April 1984) is a Swedish professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. He is a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, with his most recent win coming at the 2017 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Charlie Benjamin Beljan (born October 10, 1984) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Amateur career Beljan was born in Mesa, Arizona. He won the 2002 U.S. Junior Amateur at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia. He also won the 2006 Arizona Amateur.
