Urmila Singh
Urmila Singh (6 August 1946 – 29 May 2018) was the former Governor of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. She was appointed governor on 25 January 2010. Early life Urmila Singh was born in Phingeshwar village in Raipur district, now located in Chhattisgarh state, into a landowning family of central India, which also produced freedom fighters and social reformers. Urmila's great-grandfather, Raja Natwar Singh (alias Lalla Shah) of Haridaypur, was a freedom fighter, who was executed by the British rulers. Some other family members were deported to serve sentences in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. Urmila Singh was married at a young age to Virendra Bahadur Singh, Raja of Seraipally princely state in Chhattisgarh. Jagannath Pahadia (15 January 1932 – 19 May 2021) was an Indian politician and a leader of the Indian National Congress party. He was the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Governor of Haryana, and Governor of Bihar. He died on 19 May 2021 from COVID-19. Early life and education He was born in Bhusawar city of the present-day Bharatpur district of Rajasthan state in a Dalit Khatik family on 15 January 1932 to Nathilal Pahadia and Chanda Devi. He held M.A., LL.B., M.S.J. College, Bharatpur, Maharaja College, Jaipur and Law College Rajasthan University. He was an Ambedkarite. Kamla Beniwal (born 12 January 1927) is an Indian politician. She was a senior member of Indian National Congress party. She served as a minister on different posts and Deputy Chief Minister during different time in Rajasthan. Later she served as Governor of different Indian states between 2009 and 2014. She became the first woman minister in Rajasthan in 1954 at the age of 27. She served as Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan in 2003. Bharat Vir Wanchoo (born 15 October 1951) is an Indian political figure who was the Governor of Goa from May 2012 to July 2014. Previously, he was Director of the Special Protection Group until 2011. Personal life Wanchoo was born on 15 October 1951. He studied at the Scindia School in Gwalior and is a post-graduate in History from the Delhi University. He is married to Nalini Wanchoo. Career Wanchoo belongs to the 1976 batch of the Indian Police Service from the West Bengal cadre.
