2013 FIBA Americas Championship
The 2013 FIBA Americas Championship for Men, later known as the FIBA AmeriCup, was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Americas, for the 2014 FIBA World Cup, in Spain. This FIBA AmeriCup tournament was held in Caracas, Venezuela, from August 30, to September 11, 2013. The top four teams qualified for the 2014 FIBA World Cup. Mexico defeated Puerto Rico, in the final, to win their first AmeriCup title. Brady Heslip
Brady Heslip (born June 19, 1990) is a Canadian former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Baylor University and represents the Canadian national team. As of 2022, Heslip serves as the general manager for the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the CEBL. High school career Heslip attended Nelson High School in Burlington, Ontario where he was a three-time Halton all-star honouree and team captain in 2008–09. As a senior, he averaged 28 points, four rebounds and four assists per game. In February 2009, he scored a school-record 54 points in Nelson's game against Notre Dame. Caracas

Canada Men's National Basketball Team
The Canadian men's national basketball team represents Canada in international basketball competitions since 1923. They are overseen by Canada Basketball, the governing body of basketball in Canada. The team's head coach is Nick Nurse and its general manager is Rowan Barrett. In nine Olympic appearances, Canada has won one medal in basketball – a silver at the 1936 Games in Berlin. Marcelo "Marcelinho" Tieppo Huertas (born 25 May 1983) is a Brazilian professional basketball player for Iberostar Tenerife of the Spanish Liga ACB. José Juan Barea
José Juan Barea Mora (born June 26, 1984) is a Puerto Rican former professional basketball player and coach. He played college basketball for Northeastern University before joining the Mavericks in 2006 and becoming only the seventh Puerto Rican to play in the NBA. He went on to win an NBA championship with the Mavericks in 2011 before signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he played for the next three seasons.
