2013 Euro Beach Soccer League
The 2013 Euro Beach Soccer League (''EBSL'') is an annual European competition in beach soccer. The competitions allows national teams to compete in beach soccer in a league format over the summer months. Each season ends with a Superfinal, deciding the competition winner. This season, there are twelve teams each participating in two divisions in each Stage (there are a record number of five Stages this year) that will face each other in a round-robin system. Division A consists of the 12 top teams in Europe based on the BSWW European Ranking. Division B consists of 12 of the lower ranked teams and new entries to the competition. Each division has its own regulations and competition format. Each team competes in two preliminary events to see their points obtained accumulated into an overall ranking that will determine the teams that qualify for the Superfinal. Llorenç Gómez
Llorenç Gómez León (born 3 November 1991), often known simply as Llorenç, is a Spanish former beach soccer player who played as a forward. He represented Spain at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in 2013, 2015 and 2021. Llorenç was considered as one of the best players in the world during his career and one of the best Spanish players ever, having won the best player award at the 2018 Beach Soccer Stars awards ceremony. He retired from the sport prematurely in September 2021, aged just 29, citing chronic injuries. He was close to 1000 career goals at the time of his retirement. Ilya Leonov
Ilya Yuryevich Leonov (russian: Илья Юрьевич Леонов; born 21 December 1979 in Moscow) is a retired Russian beach soccer and former futsal player. From 2010 to 2018, he played for Lokomotiv Moscow, where for a time he served both as player and coach. After his retirement as a player he is coaching the Russia women's national beach soccer team, winning with them two Euro Beach Soccer Cups in a row, and continues coaching Lokomotiv Moscow. He is Merited Master of Sports of Russia. Career Leonov made his first steps into football in the school "Timiryazevets". He debuted in professional sports for Sportakademklub Moscow. After three seasons, Leonov decided to switch to futsal by debuting for Poligran Moscow. Following two seasons in the premier league, that club gained entry to the highest national futsal league. Aleksey Makarov
Aleksey Sergeyevich Makarov (russian: Алексей Сергеевич Макаров; born 20 August 1987) is a Russian beach soccer player currently active as a forward. Career Makarov began his professional beach soccer team in the FC Strogino club. For a short period he played for FC Delta Saratov in 2010, but then switched to Lokomotive Moscow where he has been playing since 2010. His first coach was Aleksey Grishin. Makarov debuted for the national team in the qualifying rounds of the 2007 Euro Beach Soccer League. Makarov played for Lokomotive from 2010 to 2018. He switched to Spartak Moscow in 2018. Egor Mikhailovich Shaykov (russian: Егор Михайлович Шайков; born 23 June 1980) is a former Russian association football and beach soccer player who was active as forward. Shaykov started his career in association football, his best results coming from the period where he played for FC Arsenal Tula. Since 2005, he played for beach soccer teams, his best results coming for BSC Lokomotiv Moscow, where he played from 2010 until his retirement in 2018. He is Merited Master of Sports of Russia. Patrick Ax (born 1 December 1979) is a Dutch former professional footballer. He has played for several clubs in his home country as well as winning caps for the Netherlands U-21 side. He currently is youth coach at Vitesse. Playing career Club Ax began his career at hometown club FC Groningen, making his league debut against PSV Eindhoven on 25 August 1996. Although he made few appearances, he caught the eye of Vitesse Arnhem, who signed the left winger in 1998.
