2013 Dubai Sevens
The 2013 Dubai Sevens was the second tournament within the 2013-2014 Sevens World Series. It was held over the weekend of 29–30 November 2013 at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Format The teams were drawn into four pools of four teams each. Each team played everyone in their pool one time. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the Cup/Plate brackets. The bottom two teams from each group went to the Bowl/Shield brackets. 2013–14 IRB Sevens World Series
The 2013–14 IRB Sevens World Series, known for sponsorship reasons as the HSBC Sevens World Series, was the 15th annual series of rugby union sevens tournaments for full national sides. The IRB Sevens World Series has been run by the International Rugby Board since 1999–2000. Colin Gregor
Colin Gregor (born 31 May 1981) is a retired Scottish rugby union player. He was the captain of the Scotland 7s team from 2009 to 2014. He is only the eighth player, and first Scot, to score over 1,000 points on the IRB Sevens World Series. He is one of only 13 in all forms of rugby. Gregor retired as the most capped sevens player in Scottish history, playing in 58 IRB Sevens World Series tournaments, three Sevens World Cups (in Hong Kong 2005, Dubai 2009 and Moscow 2013) and two Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, 2006. And as captain at Glasgow 2014. He played as a Scrum-half or Fly-half. Professional career Prior to signing a full-time contract to captain the 7s team in 2011, Gregor signed professional terms with Glasgow Warriors in 2004. Samisoni Viriviri
Samisoni Viriviri Nasagavesi (born 25 April 1988) is a Fiji rugby union player. He played for the Fiji sevens team, and in 2014 won the World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year award after leading the 2013-14 World Rugby Sevens Series in tries scored. He has signed with the French Top 14 club Montpellier. Early career Viriviri started his career playing in the local 7's competition. He chased a dream borne out of the stories of his grandfather and namesake who was part of the legendary 1977 Fiji XV that beat the British and Irish Lions in Suva. At 19, he broke into the club level for Dratabu in the Nadi Rugby Union club games and later played for Lomaiviti and Suva in 2010 before joining Nadroga. The Dubai Sevens is an annual rugby sevens and social event held at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, UAE. Founded in 1970, the event is the longest running sports event in the Middle East.
