2013 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters Season
The 2013 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters was the twenty-seventh season of premier German touring car championship and also fourteenth season under the moniker of Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters since the series' resumption in 2000. Bruno Spengler started the season as the defending drivers' champion. BMW was the defending manufacturers' champion, and BMW Team Schnitzer the defending teams' champion. Mike Rockenfeller clinched his first DTM title at the penultimate round of the season at Zandvoort, driving for Audi. This was the first season since 2005 without any female DTM drivers after Susie Wolff and Rahel Frey left at the end of the 2012 season. Mike Rockenfeller
Mike Rockenfeller (born 31 October 1983), nicknamed "Rocky", is a German professional racing driver and was an Audi factory driver competing in the DTM and the FIA World Endurance Championship. He won his first DTM title in 2013, driving for Audi Sport Team Phoenix. He also won the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans. Career Rockenfeller began racing karts in 1995 at age of 11, winning the Bambini North state championship. He competed in various local and national karting series in the 1990s. In 2002, he won the Jörg van Ommen Kart Cup Super Series. In 2001, Rockenfeller moved to cars, and finished 4th in the Formula König championship, winning one race. Dirk Werner
Dirk Werner (born 25 May 1981 in Hannover, Lower Saxony) is a German Porsche factory racing driver. Born in Hannover, Werner was 2007 and 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series champion for Farnbacher-Loles Racing driving a Porsche 911 and finished third in the GT Class in the 2011 American Le Mans Series season. Werner has scored podiums various high level endurance races, including the 24 Hours of Daytona, 24 Hours of Spa, 24 Hours of Nürburgring, 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans. Since 2010, Werner is a BMW works driver, and has competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Le Mans Series and the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup in addition to the American Le Mans Series. Roberto Merhi
Roberto Merhi Muntan (born 22 March 1991), is a Spanish racing driver who drove in Formula One for the Manor Marussia F1 Team during the 2015 season. Merhi has also raced in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series for Pons Racing, and won the Formula 3 Euro Series championship, while driving for Prema Powerteam. Gary Paffett
Gary Paffett (born 24 March 1981 in Bromley) is a British racing driver. Having become a household name in the DTM, following fifteen years in the series and two championship wins, Paffett moved onto Formula E for the 2018/19 championship, after it was announced in 2017 that Mercedes would no longer be taking part in DTM. Paffett was also a test driver for the Williams Formula One team, having previously worked in a similar role at McLaren for a number of years, during the team's successful title winning years. HWA Team, also known as HWA RACELAB, is the auto racing team of HWA AG, a German company based in Affalterbach, that also develops and builds vehicles and components for Mercedes-AMG race cars. It is named after founder Hans-Werner Aufrecht. History HWA was responsible for managing the AMG Mercedes team in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM). Marco Wittmann (born 24 November 1989) is a German professional racing driver, and BMW Motorsport works driver. He currently resides in Markt Erlbach. Team MTEK (commonly known as BMW Team MTEK) is a racing team located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. History Team MTEK was founded in 2012 by Ernest Knoors. Martin Tomczyk (born 7 December 1981) is a German professional racing driver, and BMW Motorsport works driver. He was the DTM champion in 2011, third in 2007, fourth in 2006 and fifth in 2004, having won eight races. Racing career After a karting career, he raced in Formula BMW and Formula Three, where he finished 12th in 2000. In 2001 he moved up to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.
