2013 Central American Championships In Athletics
The 24th Central American Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio de Atletismo del Instituto Nicaragüense de Deportes in Managua, Nicaragua, between June 21–23, 2013. A total of 43 events were contested, 22 by men and 21 by women. Medal summary Complete results and medal winners were published. The 5000 metres or 5000-metre run is a common long-distance running event in track and field, approximately equivalent to or . It is one of the track events in the Olympic Games and the World Championships in Athletics, run over laps of a standard track. The same distance in road running is called a 5K run; referring to the distance in metres rather than kilometres serves to disambiguate the two events. The 5000 m has been present on the Olympic programme since 1912 for men and since 1996 for women. Prior to 1996, women had competed in an Olympic 3000 metres race since 1984. Erick Rodríguez (born 1 June 1990) is a Nicaraguan middle-distance runner competing in the 1500 metres and 3000 metres steeplechase. He represented his country at the 2015 World Championships and 2016 World Indoor Championships without advancing from the first round. He competed for Nicaragua at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's 1500 m event. He finished 15th in his heat and did not qualify for the semifinals. The 1500 metres or 1,500-metre run (typically pronounced 'fifteen-hundred metres') is the foremost middle distance track event in athletics. The distance has been contested at the Summer Olympics since 1896 and the World Championships in Athletics since 1983. It is equivalent to 1.5 kilometers or approximately  miles.
