The 2013 Bauer Watertechnology Cup was a professional tennis tournament played on carpet courts. It was the 17th edition of the tournament which was part of the 2013 ATP Challenger Tour. Carpet Court
A carpet court is a type of tennis court. The International Tennis Federation describes the surface as a "textile or polymeric material supplied in rolls or sheets of finished product." It is one of the fastest court types, second only to grass courts. The use of carpet courts in ATP Tour competitions ended in 2009. In women's tennis, no WTA Tour tournaments have used carpet courts since the last edition of the Tournoi de Québec in 2018. ATP Challenger and ITF circuit level tournaments with carpet courts continue to exist up to the present (2022). Types There are two types of carpet court. The most common outdoor version consists of artificial turf with a sand in-fill. This type of carpet court became popular in the 1980s in British and Asian tennis clubs for recreational play as they were easier and cheaper to maintain than grass courts. Ričardas Berankis (; born June 21, 1990) is a Lithuanian professional tennis player. He is the first and only Lithuanian citizen (not counting Lithuanian American Vitas Gerulaitis) to enter the ATP top 50 rankings, making him the highest ranked Lithuanian tennis player of all time. Filip Veger (born 21 December 1994, in Slatina) is a Croatian tennis coach and former professional tennis player. Career Veger made his ATP main draw debut at the 2013 PBZ Zagreb Indoors where he came through qualifying defeating Simon Greul, Kamil Čapkovič and Ante Pavić. He lost in the first round to Lukáš Rosol, 6–2, 6–4. As a singles player, Veger reached a career high of 478 in February 2015. Eckental is a municipality in the district of Erlangen-Höchstadt, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated 14 km east of Erlangen, and 16 km northeast of Nuremberg.
