The 2012–13 Welsh Premier League, known as the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League for sponsorship reasons) was the 21st season of the Welsh Premier League, the highest football league within Wales since its establishment in 1992. The season began on 17 August 2012. The New Saints successfully defended their title. Teams Following a decision by UEFA not to allow Neath F.C. a license to compete both domestically and in continental competitions, it was ruled that they would be relegated no matter where in the league they finished. Welsh Premier League
The Cymru Premier, known as the JD Cymru Premier for sponsorship reasons, is the national football league of Wales. It has both professional and semi-professional status clubs and is at the top of the Welsh football league system. Prior to 2002, the league was known as the League of Wales (LoW), but changed its name as part of a sponsorship deal to the Welsh Premier League. The league was rebranded as the Cymru Premier for the 2019–20 season. Deeside Stadium
Deeside Stadium ( cy, Stadiwm Glannau Dyfrdwy) is a multi-sport stadium located in Connah's Quay, Deeside. It is the home stadium to Welsh Premier League side Connah's Quay Nomads F.C., Connah's Quay Nomads as well as Deeside Athletics Club. History The stadium was opened in 1998 and became home to Connah's Quay who moved from their previous venue, the Halfway Ground. In 2006, the Nomads spent time playing at Flint Town United F.C., Flint Town's Cae-Y-Castell ground as the pitch at Deeside underwent renovations. Shortly afterwards, they began planning to move into a new purpose built ground, although these plans never came to fruition. Layout The stadium features one raised stand containing 500 seats. Richmond Park (Carmarthen)
Richmond Park is a Welsh Premier League stadium in Carmarthen, Wales. Situated on Priory Street, it is currently used for football matches and is the home ground of Carmarthen Town AFC. The stadium holds 3,000 people with 1,000 seats in the Clay Shaw Butler stand. The stand is arranged with 1,000 yellow and black seats in rows, matching the colour of the home team's kit. History The club announced they would be installing a 3G all-weather pitch for the 2017/18 season. Carmarthen Town began the season with a number of games away from their Richmond Park home due these pitch renovations. Nantporth
Nantporth is a football stadium in Bangor, Wales. Bangor City F.C. played between January 2012 and 2022, having moved from their previous ground, Farrar Road, that opened in the 1920s. History Previously the ground was used occasionally by Bangor University football and rugby clubs, as well as practical lectures by the university's 'Normal Site' campus, which is home to the Sports Science and Education faculties. The main pitch overlooks the Menai Strait, with views in both directions along the coast. Building work started on the new stadium in August 2011, and was completed in January 2012. The stadium was built by developer Watkin Jones as part of a joint project with Morbaine Ltd. Maes Tegid ( en, Tegid Field) is a community playing field in Bala, Wales. It is currently used mostly for football matches, and is the home ground of Bala Town (). The stadium holds 3,000 people, with 504 seats and has been used by Bala Town since the 1950s. The seats at Maes Tegid are second-hand from Chesterfield and Coventry City, and were installed when Bala won promotion to the Welsh Premier League. The Airfield
The Airfield, also known by its sponsored name as the Hollingsworth Group International Airfield, is a football stadium in Broughton, Flintshire, Wales. It is home to Airbus UK Broughton F.C., who play in the Cymru Premier. In 2014, the grass surface was replaced with a 3G synthetic pitch. History The Airfield is noted in Welsh football for having retractable floodlights due to the ground being located close to a working runway at Hawarden Airport. Steve Williams, chairman of the Football Association of Wales, stated that he wanted the Wales national football teams to play more international matches in north Wales. The Airfield was suggested as a location for friendlies. The Airfield, however, does not meet UEFA standards, meaning the only international ground in north Wales is the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham. The 2011–12 Cymru Alliance season, also known as ''Huws Gray Alliance'' for sponsoring purposes, is the 22nd season of the Cymru Alliance, the second-level association football league in north Wales. It began on 12 August 2011 and ended on 21 April 2012. Sixteen teams take part in the league, with Gap Connah's Quay being the defending champions. The champions are eligible for promotion to the 2012–13 Welsh Premier League, pending a licence application and approval, while the bottom three teams will be relegated to one of the three feeder leagues of the Cymru Alliance.
