2012–13 Hartlepool United F.C. Season
The 2012–13 season was Hartlepool United's 104th year in existence and their sixth consecutive season in League One. Along with competing in League One, the club also participated in the FA Cup, League Cup and League Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013. Hartlepool United F
Hartlepool () is a seaside and port town in County Durham, England. It is the largest settlement and administrative centre of the Borough of Hartlepool. With an estimated population of 90,123, it is the second-largest settlement in County Durham. Hartlepool is locally administrated by Hartlepool Borough Council, a unitary authority which also administrates outlying villages of Seaton Carew, Greatham, Hart Village, Dalton Piercy and Elwick. Hartlepool was founded in the 7th century, around the monastery of Hartlepool Abbey. The village grew in the Middle Ages and its harbour served as the official port of the County Palatine of Durham. Neil Jeffrey Austin (born 26 April 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. He started his career at Barnsley, and spent time playing for Darlington and Hartlepool United in the Football League, and played at non-league level with Gateshead, Shaw Lane and Gainsborough Trinity. Andrew James Rafferty (born 27 May 1988) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Rafferty played in League One for Hartlepool United making the step up from part-time side Guisborough Town. Following his departure from Hartlepool, Rafferty signed for National League side Dover Athletic before playing for part-time side Spennymoor Town. Greg David Rutherford (born 17 May 1994) is an English footballer who plays for Whitby Town. Career Rutherford was born in North Shields. He started his career in the youth team of Hartlepool United on a two-year scholarship in the summer of 2010. In April 2012, Rutherford was offered his first professional contract. On 14 April 2012, he made his professional debut in a 2–1 defeat to Chesterfield, coming on as a late substitute for Gary Liddle. Antony Thomas Sweeney (born 5 September 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played in the Football League for Hartlepool United and Carlisle United. He is a first team coach at Hartlepool United. In thirteen seasons with Hartlepool, he made 444 appearances, making him the third highest appearance maker in the club's history. Nathan John Luscombe (born 6 November 1989) is an English former footballer who played as a winger. Career Born in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, Luscombe progressed through the Sunderland youth system and signed a professional contract on 1 July 2008. James Alexander Poole (born 20 March 1990) is an English footballer. He is primarily a striker but can also play left-wing and as an attacking midfielder.
