The 2012–13 season was Hartlepool United's 104th year in existence and their sixth consecutive season in League One. Along with competing in League One, the club also participated in the FA Cup, League Cup and League Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013. Hartlepool United F
Hartlepool () is a seaside and port town in County Durham, England. It is the largest settlement and administrative centre of the Borough of Hartlepool. With an estimated population of 90,123, it is the second-largest settlement in County Durham. Hartlepool is locally administrated by Hartlepool Borough Council, a unitary authority which also administrates outlying villages of Seaton Carew, Greatham, Hart Village, Dalton Piercy and Elwick. Hartlepool was founded in the 7th century, around the monastery of Hartlepool Abbey. The village grew in the Middle Ages and its harbour served as the official port of the County Palatine of Durham. After a railway link from the north was established from the South Durham coal fields, an additional link from the south, in 1835, together with a new port, resulted in further expansion, with the new town of West Hartlepool. Neil Austin (footballer)
Neil Jeffrey Austin (born 26 April 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. He started his career at Barnsley, and spent time playing for Darlington and Hartlepool United in the Football League, and played at non-league level with Gateshead, Shaw Lane and Gainsborough Trinity. He also earned a combined 26 Youth International Caps with England at U15 to U20 levels. Andy Rafferty
Andrew James Rafferty (born 27 May 1988) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Rafferty played in League One for Hartlepool United making the step up from part-time side Guisborough Town. Following his departure from Hartlepool, Rafferty signed for National League side Dover Athletic before playing for part-time side Spennymoor Town. Club career Early career Rafferty started his career at Darlington but left the club aged 16. Upon leaving, Rafferty had trials at Southampton, Reading and Wigan Athletic but a broken finger left him unable to sign. Jordan Richards (born 25 April 1993) is an English footballer who plays as a defender for Curzon Ashton. Richards played in the Football League for Hartlepool United. He has also played non-league football for Alfreton Town, Darlington, AFC Fylde, Southport and Farsley Celtic. Career Richards was born in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. Jack Baldwin (born 30 June 1993) is an English professional association football, footballer who plays as a Defender (association football)#Centre-back, centre-back for club Northampton Town F.C., Northampton Town. Greg Rutherford (footballer)
Greg David Rutherford (born 17 May 1994) is an English footballer who plays for Whitby Town. Career Rutherford was born in North Shields. He started his career in the youth team of Hartlepool United on a two-year scholarship in the summer of 2010. In April 2012, Rutherford was offered his first professional contract. On 14 April 2012, he made his professional debut in a 2–1 defeat to Chesterfield, coming on as a late substitute for Gary Liddle. Rutherford then signed a short-term deal in the summer of 2012, which was later extended in early January 2013. Antony Sweeney
Antony Thomas Sweeney (born 5 September 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played in the Football League for Hartlepool United and Carlisle United. He is a first team coach at Hartlepool United. In thirteen seasons with Hartlepool, he made 444 appearances, making him the third highest appearance maker in the club's history. During his time there he won the player of the year award for the 2010–11 season and won two promotions out of the fourth tier. Nathan Luscombe
Nathan John Luscombe (born 6 November 1989) is an English former footballer who played as a winger. Career Born in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, Luscombe progressed through the Sunderland youth system and signed a professional contract on 1 July 2008. He made his first team debut on 4 February 2009 in an FA Cup fourth round tie against Blackburn Rovers, aged 19. James Poole (footballer)
James Alexander Poole (born 20 March 1990) is an English footballer. He is primarily a striker but can also play left-wing and as an attacking midfielder. Since 2015 he has worked for City Football Group as a scout, but has combined this role with appearing for a series of non-league sides at the same time. Simon William Walton (born 13 September 1987) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Havant & Waterlooville. Jonathan Ian Franks (born 8 April 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for Whitby Town. He has previously played for Middlesbrough, Oxford United, Yeovil Town, Hartlepool United, Ross County, ÍBV and Stockton Town.
